Are you fucking reading this, Wizards? You could have a Yawning Portal sitcom and millions of nerds would eat it the fuck up.
One of my favorite Japanese dramas, Isekai Izakaya Nobu, based on an anime of the same name, has a plot kind of like this. Lots of fun.
Kinda like Bruno’s Lodge in Lands of Lore
Spider Robinson wrote some books about that place.

There are a few podcasts like that I think. Notably Hello from the Magic tavern. A sitcom, even animated, would be pretty cool!

Yeah, animated is probably the way to go. Few sitcoms are going to get the budget for the costumes and makeup to not look dorky.
This is one of the things What We Do In The Shadows got right.
I played a RPG in IRC back in high school that was essentially just that. Like 90% of the game was just hanging out in the tavern just talking about in-world politics and drama.
The Goliath at the end of the bar is a happy genial sort, his comically oversized tankard is a source of recurring jokes

“What would you say to an ale, there, Nørmr?”
“I’d say ‘Make peace with the spirits of your ancestors, for you shall soon greet them in Valhalla.’”
I guess he needs a courier buddy full of bad trivia.
