Just curious if there’s bots on mastodon that you can attempt interact with. I might make a bot that pretends to be human using ollama just to see how it goes. Because that would be interesting
What is the point? All this serves is to make any community you loose this on objectively worse.
This kind of “project” directly contributes to the degeneration of the internet. Please don’t do that.

Make sure that people know that it is infact AI, best to put that into the Name.
If you make it obvious it’s an AI it will make people more angry. I already know the people that would care about AI bots wouldn’t mute the bot they would go agro. If they questions about it being a bot they would hesitate or even look at convincing people that it’s a bot as effort that would discourage them.
But I will disclose that it is a bot and communities will have to decide how they want to deal deal with it.
Also if you want evidence for my claim. There’s no community that’s out there hunting none disclosed ai bots, they’re made at me for even convincing the idea of an AI bot

What if bots have gotten so advanced they have simulated lives and backstory to help sell their reality.

Bots are largely a nuisance to the communities they’re in; I would advise against making one.

That sounds like you’re planning to waste a bunch of people’s time. Not sure what your intent is, but if label it correctly (as AI), few people are going to talk to it like a person, and if you don’t, that’s a dick move and will also get you banned.
If you want to talk to bots just go on reddit or twitter /s
I’ve seen one or two that run for a short time, but they became slow and incoherent fast.
Neat so if have to figure out a way to keep it coherent

Jup. There are a few normal people. The main problem is the mods and admins, who enforce the tankieness on everyone in those communities.

I love the Lemmy shit talk. I’ll save my opinion on the community, but they do need to realize mean comments and down boats aren’t much of a deterrent
