Or is it only a Perth thing to do icecream in winter?
It was -4° this morning, I’ll go outside and crunch on frozen grass, mmmmmmm.

I am down to home-brand branded icecream. Used to buy the [supermarket expensive] ice cream but now they are all above the price threshold I am prepared to pay.
I quite like to treat myself every now and then. My last one was vegimite and white chocolate gelato. Can definitely recommend it.

I dunno about Perth, but it’s definitely not a me thing. Damn place is cold enough this time of year without consuming pure coldness.
That said, I’m big on cookies and cream or mango swirl. But not for the next 4 and a bit months.
I never really stop buying icecream through the winter. Demand for Streets Blue Ribbon vanilla ice cream or those generic brand Cornetto knock offs is fairly consistent in this house.
Pretty much anything in the dipping cabinet at Miss Sophia’s Gelateria in Stafford (Brisbane).
Double Espresso is a good one, as is Milo, Vanilla, Pavlova, in fact they’re all good.
Ice cream in winter is one of the perks of living in Brisbane.
Ok describe pavlova as a flavour. Is it just sweet? Is their fruit?
It legitimately tastes like pavlova! Definitely sweet, has that… pavlova… taste. I suspect theres a hint of strawberry as the ice cream is slightly pink. I think they had marshmellow on top of the container in the cabinet but there’s none in the ice cream itself.
You can pretty much buy anything^*^ and it tastes amazing.
^*^ - I’m not vouching for the vegan stuff, never tried it.
They used to dye vanilla ice cream light blue and sell it as “delphino” around here. I don’t know why but I loved that stuff.
Nowadays I’m more of a cassis guy.
Blue icecream… ok I’d try it :)
Málaga… The one and only.
Which is what flavour? Malaga as a suburb here is light industrial so I am thinking flavours of salt and oil and
Lol. No, it was based on the Spanish wine Málaga.
Been a bit partial to vanilla icecream with one of those mini nonnas apple pies lately. If i’m feeling adventurous, a bit a custard to.
The Connoisseur baked cookie one I cannot stop eating this winter. I only buy it if it’s on special though.
No, icecream antidepressants. Chocolate or coconut or both
I love ice cream, and a 1l or 2l tub is lucky to make it past 2 days.
But I struggled with my last tub. It’s the first time I can remember that I went ‘Nah, I don’t want any. It’ll be too cold and just unpleasant’. I could only bring myself to eat it at lunchtime.
And now I’ve actually stood in front of the fridge at the supermarket and gone ‘Brrrr, no I can’t handle the thought It’ll be cold’.
Somebody help me. I’m now literally softer than ice cream sitting in the sun on a summer’s day 😢

Always vanilla, because you can do so many things with it. Eat it plain, eat it with toppings, eat it alongside a heated dessert, make affogato or iced coffee, etc. I only buy “ice cream”, though. In my opinion, anything that can’t meet the minimum milk fat standards (and therefore can’t use the words “ice cream” on its packaging) is usually pretty bad compared to stuff that can. It’s either noticeably less creamy or it has a weird artificial creaminess (a good example of this is Peter’s). I’ll buy Bulla or Golden North if they’re on sale, otherwise I go for Foodland or Drake’s home-brand.
