I have always had a very high sex drive until I went on some medication that actually kills your libido(side-effect).
At one point I was consuming porn 16-18 hours a day(including sleep). I was going to sleep playing nsfw asmr glucking just to get some restful sleep. I had collected almost 20tb of content. sufficient to say, I had a problem.
my addiction was so bad that at one point I was listening to audio erotica on my way to and from work. you don’t know shame until you look at the car next to you at a stop, and there’s a disgusted mother staring you down while your car is screaming to “breed me daddy”.
Not long after I started my meds, I deleted my entire fap cache. if it wasn’t for the meds, I would probably still be doing the same shit. an app like this would have been a nice tool to keep me in check.

Because porn addiction is a real thing and some people who suffer from it want help.

As someone who dealt for way too many years with a heroin addiction, I keep reading things like this and wanting to say stuff like ‘porn addiction isn’t a real addiction.’ But TBF I’ve never had a porn addiction and don’t know what it’s like, so I can’t say that. But there are undeniable differences.

the similarities are far more numerous than not.
porn/masturbation addiction targets the pleasure receptors in your brain and excites your brain to release dopamine.
heroin does the same thing but “louder”.
you’re not addicted to the drug, you’re addicted to the dopamine rush and feelings.

I’m not downvoting you, but this doesn’t explain why you get extreme physical withdrawals from heroin and not from porn.

That’s a reasonable position that doesn’t invalidate the experiences of others [genuine]. There are definitely differences between heroin addiction and porn addiction, but either can be life ruining. Heroin tends to be more dangerous, but that can depend on what kind of porn the person is addicted to, just ask David Carradine.
