Wasn’t there one convention that was turning people away for smelling too bad?

My buddy’s parents used to own a comic book store, and they regularly had to turn away Magic The Gathering players for smelling too bad. They even had a sign on the door that said something along the lines of “we reserve the right to refuse service if you smell like you haven’t showered all week”.

these places really need to get some kind of mental health assistance outreach recommendation. IDK , a depression hotline or fucking something.

I was once at a convention and talked to a comic book store owner. He gave me his card and i went there a few weeks later. The store was pretty cool, you had to walk down two stairs to even reach the “bunker” it was very modern and clean. It was friday, and apparently that’s when they played MTG that day. I have never even seen people play card games aside from the few at the convention. Holy shit, that store, especially around the tables where the people played smelled absolutely rancid. I’m used to bad smelling apartments because of my job, but this was crazy. I told the owner that i’ll go out to smoke a few times. I don’t smoke, i didn’t want to puke on the floor.
