Adults understand that it’s generational differences between opening up about uniqueness and simply hiding it to fit in, kids just like the music and dancing.
Adults also make a face with how much it’s a copy of Frozen’s premise.

Funny you say that, in Japan it’s common to get business magnets in your junk mail. Stuff like cleaners, in-home therapy, etc.

Yeah, that just makes this so sinister.
What I mean is that my fridge doesn’t have a screen. So if Panasonic decided to show me ads on a fridge where the most complicated feature is the ice maker, that would be a neat trick.

I remember siting down at fast food restaurants and playing with the little free matchbook sitting in the ashtray.
(Playing meaning reading it and looking at it, I would have been throttled right there if I tried to light one of the matches.)

In Japan, it’s a law that even software cameras have to make a loud “shutter” sound to guard against voyeuristic photography.
There’s a little cottage industry of third-party camera apps on the Japanese App Store that do little more than replace the default shutter sound with a custom sound… like silence.

Rail literally lifted Japan out of the ashes after WWII. And unlike America, Japan allowed passenger rail and other mass transit to build out side-by-side with the rise of the automobile.
The result is that Japan has one of the best public transit systems in the world despite also being a very car-centric country.
