“right to root” would prevent so much eWaste.
I would love a variant that is like, if you stop delivering security and minor fixes/backports to a device, you have to give access to root or better even to the bootloader. - Comment on Your Phone is an Entire Computer 1 week ago:
For me, it was around 2013 an iPad nano, thinking how awesome having an iPhone with unlimited internet would be, because I could listen anything on demand on the go Then I got my 4s as first self bought iPhone.
I realised, how macOS like it is, as I had jailbroken it. - Comment on 1 week ago:
You should use Arch, then you can update every 15 minutes 🤭
- Comment on Do rich people get addicted to drugs? 1 week ago:
Drugs =/= Drugs
But it kinda makes sense with coke and K…
Other drugs are either not that addictive / live destroying ( thinking MD/Acid) or too cheap low quality drugs (meth etc.) that don’t fit into the rich kid setting.
Of course MD and acid can have their place in the story, but I would concentrate on coke and K for realism.

Japan lost approximately US$30 billion to anime and manga piracy
How are you sure that all people who have watched through piracy would have bought it? Maybe they would sell even less without the hype generated by piracy watchers talking about the show…

I watch smallant playing this one 😄

I have 3 attempts running parallel 😇
- GBA Universe -> all GBA cartages and a gamecube with pokemon box (about 80% missing event Pokemon, but I plan to use the recreated gba event distribution roms which I save on a bootleg gba cartige to use via game link cable)
- 3ds Universe -> all Pokemon digital on 3ds with PLSM for storage and events (about 10% as this is most recent setup and I have limited time as an adult
- switch universe -> my relative big collection on Pokemon home, where I uploaded anything that was on bank prior my 3ds/switch split, is now the storage my son uses, who has the goal to complete the shield pokedex. I think we are on something like 70% on the home pokedex.

- Comment on Is there any reason not to charge my laptop with a USB C phone charger? 2 weeks ago:
- Li-ion and LiPo batteries don’t have the mini cycle problem as much as the NiMH batteries have
- Keeping always plugged in is terrible advice for Li-ion/LiPo batteries (except if your device is smart enough to support reducing tear on battery with intelligent charging behaviour, like not charging above 80%)
- Li-ion absolutely dislike being fully charged and will suffer extreme tear, if you let them always be charged to 100% -> reduces max capacity and increases risk of swelling
- this 80% labeled as 100% is mostly present on bigger batteries like car batteries, which have guarantees with min cap decrease over 5 to 10 years. Phones with guarantees of 1 or 2 years generally have near100% as 100%, as it is marketing relevant to have bigger numbers than competitors without need to offer long battery guarantees.
- fully discharging is recommended at least some times in order to recalibrate the percentage calculation (if a charging event is without interruption from lower than x%, the battery controller is counting the watthours pumped into the battery until it reaches the point where less than x ampere charging are required to hold the desired voltage. With this counting, you can then adjust the graph used to calculate percentage of capacity still available based on the corrected (compensated for drop of voltage due to current usage) Voltage of the battery)

😁nice!
😄did you have the joy of working USB-C PD charging and dead battery with self protection and USB OTG support? (On embedded Linux 4.15)
(Plug in -> 5vSAVE due to CC pull down on default -> power negotiation -> agreement on 20v -> death of Linux due to short interupt of supply on Vbus and no power from battery because of self protection -> back to step plug in -> 5vSAVE)🤪

I play my emerald on my 3ds using an injected Virtual Console game installed via CIA (or FBI, 😂 often confuse the two), I think it is .cia file installed via FBI App.
Additionally to that, I use PKSM App on my 3ds in order to enable events and transfer Pokemon from game to game (like Pokemon bank)
Like this, I have all Pokemon games installed from blue/red to UltraSun/UltraMoon and can convert Pokemon up and down
- Comment on Is there any reason not to charge my laptop with a USB C phone charger? 2 weeks ago:
Slower charging is generally more healthy for the battery, but faster charging is no problem as long as heat generation while charging is kept low.

On iOS and macOS, I use Strongbox pro (one time purchase), as it integrates beautifully into the apple ecosystem using its APIs.
On linux and windows free KeepassXC with browser plug-ins
On Android I use the free keePassDX which, like strongbox, uses the android APIs for passwords - Comment on What Your Bluetooth Devices Reveal About You: Building Bluehood, a Bluetooth scanner that reveals what information we leak just by having Bluetooth enabled on our devices. 4 weeks ago:
Tldr: Bluetooth isn’t entirely the problem. The problem is manufacturers who don’t add privacy features like rotating identifiers into their Bluetooth enabled devices. Many smartphones are doing this these days.
E.g. modern non-cheap devices (iphone, pixel, general higher level android, airpods, apple watches, other modern headphones etc.) have those, and are not really track able like this.
