Contraceptive availability globally is higher than ever, which has enabled people to choose to not have children, without giving up sex.

Generally due to a lack of education, birth control, and bodily autonomy. Now that that’s available, kids are way too expensive to have. I say that as a parent myself.

When they are hopeless and in wars, people still have kids, but that's if you're uneducated. Education has a huge impact on fertility and you can't provide nothing or little to an educated populace and expect them to have kids.
