Until you realise once your job is done after being activated you may not be worth retrieving or someone else’s activation is to make sure you can’t talk about what you have done.

That’s already a concern in my day to day life.
I’ve been deemed expendable by companies and people have shot at me. Shit just happens man, naturally.

Now I must hear what it is you do, that being used as target practice is a part of your current life.

Retail management. I recently left my job as a district manager for a dollar branded store chain.
I also in my free time help abused people get to the shelters.
I’ve been shot at three times 2 were protecting women leaving, once a banned customer who saw me out on a walk.

Seems like you need to go get a bodyguard certification so you can fight back.
I bet you’re talking about dollar tree or one of the chains they have. Really doesn’t surprise me; the management for that company is a few hairs short of a slumlord. Stay safe

I did in another comment.
More importantly five people liked that comment so it’s not as uncommon as you think
To use silly fake math 5 likes on lemmy is 100,000 on Reddit. That means 104 billion people have experienced it.
The less funny answer is, I’ve worked corporate jobs, and I’ve unfortunately seen people die. I’ve seen the math that goes into that. I’m kinda a safety nut now. “No ones going to pay you if you die watch out how you stack that. You have an arbitration agreement “
