  Second piss off with that “yous a conspiracist shit” both the CIA and KGB were confirmed to be doing such shit throughout the Cold war, now it’s just some kid named Ivan being paid like it’s McDonald’s to convince meemaw that medbeds are real. Is it really so fucken hard to conceptualize that maybe just maybe a country historically and currently aligned against the West may just use agitators online to further enflame social issues? Because that’s all they’re fucking doing it’s just piss easy when the lowest common denominators, scammers, and general asshats are all interacting online.

    Yeah, I’m beyond fed up with the “Russia Hoax” nonsense. It’s not a “conspiracy theory,” it is proven fact that the Russians have been manipulating not just our elections, but any elections that threaten to grow democracy and suppress oppressive right-wing extremism.

    None of this is new, we have been actively conflicting with them since the end of WWII. “The Cold War” wasn’t just a marketing phrase, we really have been actively at war with the Soviet Union/Russia since 1945. The Russians have spent literally every second of every day, ATTACKING us in every way they can, short of weaponry. After all these decades, their widespread efforts have begun to coalesce, and bear fruit. Brexit, for instance, has been proven to have been driven primarily by Russian propaganda.

    For another instance, we also know for a fact that the Russians hacked into the DNC emails, because Dutch intelligence secretly had control of the security cameras in the room where the Russian hackers were operating, and literally saw the moment they started hacking (Immediately after he stopped his usual word salad speech, and turned to the camera, and clearly said “Russia, if you are listening…”, obviously a signal that he was accepting their help), and their celebration when the hack succeeded. Dutch intelligence thought it was important enough to let American intelligence know about, so they burned their source to inform us, losing any chance to monitor the hacking room in the future. And what did the Obama administration do with this information, in combination with all the other intelligence they had about the Russians actively interfering in the 2016 election? Absolutely NOTHING. The Dutch burned an amazing source to inform us, for nothing. I’m sure they won’t bother the next time.

    These things have been proven by our intelligence services, and intelligence services from around the world. It isn’t just a political position taken just to be contrary to the other side, it is written history, and it is as stupid as stupid gets to deny it, and really really stupid to make childish fun of those who actually understand the Russian role in the modern world. You might as well be making fun of people who think the Earth is round. Denying the Russian Conspiracy make a person sound just as stupid.

      Thanks for going over the more direct examples that aren’t just there to generally inflame societal bullshit to cause general conflict. I was mostly just going over the shit that everyone knows is already bot run which is far easier for me to recall info on and more or less wield Occam’s Razor to make my point. One of the most flawed elements of my argumentative style is that I’m bad at specific information recall so I just default to attacking the logic instead.

        I have a history degree, so it’s my natural inclination to tell the story by highlighting all the important steps, so people can see how the situation developed. I might not remember exact dates or names, but the general story will be accurate.

        Early on, I learned that history is just the story of interesting people and events. I never understood why it wasn’t everybody’s favorite subject.
