The same thing applies for Gavin Newsom. The man plays leapfrog across the whole political spectrum depending on what he thinks will keep him in power. No one whose main objective is maintaining their power deserves to be trusted.
Comment on Killing SNAP benefits now is demanding a Blue Congress next election.

She’s not jumping ship, she’s directly retaliating against Trump for not letting her run for senate or something equally dumb. She is not and never will be the good guy.

Sometimes we only learn better by first playing out our stupidest ideas. It’s not common, but I personally know a couple people that were raised to hard-headed racists, but later grew into self-reflecting, socially-concerned types. Minds can be changed if you encourage the right behaviors in the right ways.
I don’t see any reason to think this change will fully follow through on her, but she has been one of the loudest advocates for all this insanity, so hearing her change tune is kind of an uncomfortable w. Lots of women living the gop life know exactly how hard it is to be in that culture while not also being a man, and she’s starting to speak up on that bullshit. People are going to be reconsidering things about their lives because of her recent choice in words, and that is a good thing.
She should not be trusted or welcomed into the fold or anything like that, but this recent strain of behavior should definitely be welcomed. Encouraged, even. Even if not for the good it could do for individuals in this cult, then it would still be worth encouraging for the simple fact that accelerating the splintering of their base helps to clear the path toward moving past all this nonsense. Disillusioned gonna disillusion, as has always been the game.
Tldr; she can’t be trusted, but it seems likely to be a net positive to encourage this behavior, and only this behavior.

MTG is the weirdest politician I’ve ever seen. I honestly can’t decide if she’s stupid, wily as a fox, playing games and, uh, winning or losing? Considering how she got into office in the first place, I know she has zero morals, but other than that, I got nothing.

Very few people are hopelessly and entirely stupid and many folks who don’t seem too bright can be quite cunning in specific fields and through certain lenses. A person might not be able to multiply double digits and yet still have an innate understandings of stuff like leveraging social currency, speaking in a way that makes others want to listen, or even more mundane things like intuitively taking to carpentry or specific artforms.
I see her as an odd combination of generally dull, socially clever, and desperately self-centered (which appears to be a boon to her abrasive but surprisingly effective social skills, because ofc it does and we are living in 🤡🌎). Regardless of whatever tf goes on in her haunted head, she is a very weird and frustrating lady. That much is crystal clear.

As much as I think the “WOKE MTG” arc is funny as fuck, and the fact she is actually sticking up for her principles (as fucked up as they are) is kinda respectable. But don’t get it twisted, I think she’s still a horrible fucking woman. To me she is now what I’d call a worthy opponent who just happens to not be in the side of the main antagonist.

I applaud your ability to believe she has principles, but a “worthy opponent” isn’t someone who believes in “Jewish space lasers” or any of the other wackadoodle conspiracies she’s repeatedly espoused. She may be on the correct side on this one issue, but it most assuredly is either because she thinks it serves her own goals in some way.
