Y’all I’ve been playing a lot of Darktide recently, and I’m pissed no one told me it was this good sooner.
I picked it up ~a year after launch and, while fun, it still had so many issues and lacked polish that it was hard for to recommend it to anyone.
It only got a lot of fixes and QoL stuff added relatively recently, so you picking it up now is probably for the best.
Really?? That’s actually insane. Well, more for me I guess, cuz this game slaps now.
New content and major balance changes are slow to roll out, but they’ve always been worth the wait IMO, and you can see the devs passion to make a great game come through with the amount of detail and care they take with new features.
Plus they’re very connected with the community and balance stuff has more or less always been received positively (though there’s always going to be a few haters.)
Holy shit same, I put it off for a long time because of the hate. Maybe it was shit, but I don’t have a lot of complaints and now it’s got me hooked like digital crack.
I did play the shit out of Vemintide many moons ago, so shooty co-ops must be my kink.
I was a greybeard with Deep Rock before, and this game just scratches the itch.

That’s the neat thing, it wasn’t. I played it on launch, it was fun but quickly boring and visually rough still.
Imo waiting to buy once the kinks have been ironed out is the way to go, you timed it perfectly.

Yeah, being a patient gamer has paid off plenty in the past, and by the sounds of it this game is no exception. Still, glad to see it reach it’s potential, and to be there when it does.

When you feel like it, that is, assuming checking in lives up to any of the hype or seems fun at all.
For impatient gamers, pre-order checking in right now and I, uh… And my LLC pinky promises that checking in will be amazing, so you better give me money to reserve it now in case we run out of check ins by the time you get to the front of the line.
