Why should any state inherently exist? I’ll say it about the US and ill say it about Russia. No state deserves to exist, the second their military is no longer strong enough to enforce their rule they dissapear.

I stand with Ukraine. Why should they give up their sovereign land to an invader? I’d say the say damn thing if it was the US as the aggressor.
Russia invaded Ukraine, unprovoked, and you call for Ukraine to give up its land? That’s absurd.
It is absolutely possible to care about more than one thing at a time.

So in short the arguement is… over time it should be like corporations in America, we just watch as the biggest eat the smaller ones until we’ve just got one giant nation? Isn’t that basically the plot of 1984… (basically the world is down to 3 super nations… with effectively the same government. In perpetual war with eachother just to make sure resources don’t pile up to the point where everyone can survive comfortably.
Because I mean that’s basically it, having diverse nations is a good thing. Allows us to actually see differences in laws, learn from different governments, good ideas can be copied, bad ideas can be avoided. Any big nation can trample all the smaller ones. It’s a really bad idea to let them.

Why should your comment exist? Why should sky exist? Why should exist? blah blah blah

Im not militarily occupying a land, stripping the natural resources, and extracting labor value from a people while justifying under it the pretext of a national identity and state wealth. They talk of national unity yet their capitalists exploit the workers all the same.

If I pull the string what else does it say?
SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 months ago
So when a sovereign nation can no longer defend itself from a more powerful one, they should cede their lands and resources? That ridiculous.
kittenzrulz123@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 months ago
The west has used that logic for decades to justify brutal military occupations. I say that land and resource belong to no state, any claim of ownership is inherent violence.
Reality_Suit@lemmy.world 8 months ago
No, rich people have used that as justification. Poor people don’t invade countries. Poor people flee from persecution. Beyond race, gender, or religion, it’s always the perceived wealthy that cause all of the problems. Everyone else is responding to their policies and laws.

Let’s come back to reality, yeah?
IloveyouMF@lemmy.world 8 months ago
It was not unprovoked, Ukraine attempted to join the imperial core and we saw what they are doing in Palestine Russia could not allow the imperial core to grow stronger, they are fighting for the colonized world
Ukraine is using that land to help America
Russia is using it to help colonized peoples
I know who I support having it
SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 months ago
Yeah miss me with that shit. The Ukrainians deserve the right to not be invaded by any other nation. Fuck off with that imperial bullshit. They certainly had their own internal struggles. But that does not give the Russians any sort of mandate to invade, bomb and maim them. Fuck that. Russia is no better than the west. East vs west is about as stupid as it gets.
IloveyouMF@lemmy.world 8 months ago
do you not know lennin ?
Russia can not be imperialist as they do not have monopoly capital sufficient to meet that stage of capitalism.
No it’s not stupid the east is clearly better then the west Russia is anti imperialist Ukraine is pro Imperialist

This has to be one of the most propaganda ridden bullshit takes I’ve ever seen. You’re so brainwashed you think it’s appropriate for any country to be invading another. Fuck off.
SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 months ago
Looks like we’ll have to agree to disagree with your stupid take on things.

True and say what you want about American wars, they don’t take territory for themselves. Russia on the other hand
