Jokes for adults that are in kids’ shows are an old trend. The logic behind it is that it’s there so the parents have something to laugh at too, since they’re forced to put up with it asking with their kids (usually).

Seriously, go back and watch the shows you used to like as a kid and you’ll see it. Animaniacs is a good example.
