I fucking hate AI slop so much. Why do people post that shit?

Right now, which is worse - the energy used to generate the image or the food waste if someone actually made slaw pops? At some point in the near future AI wins, if it doesn’t win already.

How much energy did your comment waste? How much energy is running a server to run a site so you can look at memes?
Why is your enjoyment an acceptable use of resources?

Growing and harvesting and delivering and picking up food use a shitload of fuel, we just subsidize it. Using an image generator uses almost no energy (training it did, but that’s already done). The comparison isn’t even close.

For every calorie of food you ingest, it takes at least 10 calories to get it to you. Transportation, refrigeration, packaging, harvesting, etc., all add up.
Eat locally. Buy locally.

Utilization of models begets training of more models.
Kinda like CSAM.

Everything I don’t like is AI slop.
