The ones born after the Great Depression lived through an abnormal period of capitalism. One that featured a lot of socialist policies. As far as I’ve read, most people were well aware that capitalism was dog shit for the working class before that and a lot believed socialism was the solution.

Seriously. This country couldn’t do a better job promoting socialism if it tried. Capitalism to a majority of people under 50 means instability and hardship.

Yes. Capitalism was in an ideological battle with communism so the government put it thumb on the scale with socialism but gave credit to capitalism for the outcome. Then billionaires spent 75 years indoctrinating, corrupting, and distorting history to claw back their power.

This guy is informed. Socialism got us out of the hole capitalism dug in the depression. Seeing their power slip away, conservative politicians wasted no time in shifting the narrative. The US needs another FDR to equalize things (let’s just skip the prison camps this go).
