- Comment on Europe proposes backdoors in encrypted platforms under new security strategy 22 hours ago:
This is so fucking stupid. Major crime organizations and governments can easily afford non-commercial encrypted communications. This will only be used to spy on citizens.

This is just an invite to fraud - straight up.
- Comment on We're cooked, I'm hooked 1 day ago:
Yes. Capitalism was in an ideological battle with communism so the government put it thumb on the scale with socialism but gave credit to capitalism for the outcome. Then billionaires spent 75 years indoctrinating, corrupting, and distorting history to claw back their power.
- Comment on Google Is Helping the Trump Administration Deploy AI Along the Mexican Border 1 day ago:
Just a quid pro quo to give google a fat government hand out. Only purpose it will serve is to give border agents something to blame for issues. Just like every time DOGE messes up.
- Comment on YouTube removes 'gender identity' from hate speech policy 2 days ago:
Showing how truly performative their big “ally” push was during the pandemic. All their BLM and diversity support was just as performative. Big corporations are just sycophantic monsters riding trends. Avoid them where possible.
- Comment on US bans government personnel in China from romantic or sexual relations with Chinese citizens 2 days ago:
Yeah, that will stop it. An element of danger and secrecy historically always stops sex and relationships. 🤣
- Comment on We're cooked, I'm hooked 2 days ago:
Seriously. This country couldn’t do a better job promoting socialism if it tried. Capitalism to a majority of people under 50 means instability and hardship.
- Comment on Do people really think setting up domestic manufacturing in the USA is easy? 2 days ago:
Not to mention any new factories will have drastically fewer jobs than the factories that left due to newer factories being highly automated. The cost of retrofitting existing factories has stopped many companies from upgrading to keep higher their quarterly profits for investors. If they are forced to build, they will invest in money saving long run cost savings like automation.

Maybe just J6 the White House. Give those jackasses a taste of their own medicine.
- Comment on What if there really was a "pee tape"? 1 week ago:
Bush was a bigger threat to democracy than Bin Laden. People forget this unitary executive theory Trump is abusing so extremely was first brought to prominence by Bush. Bush also brought the PATRIOT act to open a lot of authoritarian doors. The Trumpster fire would not be possible without the Bush Jr.

I’ve never heard of being so into your kink you find a way to indulge postmortem. Clever girl.
- Comment on Cloudflare turns AI against itself with endless maze of irrelevant facts 1 week ago:
So AI taxes power, water for cooling, and other natural resources to be ramped up and used. Now this creates a second wasteful AI to do the same and create an endless loop so that the first AI just keeps spinning its wheels and wasting resources until discovered. The idea makes sense from a pure “stop unauthorized crawling” perspective, but damn we just have no solutions that don’t accelerate climate impact. This planet is just going to turn into an oven to cook us.
- Comment on How do the Republicans feel about Project 2025 now? 2 weeks ago:
The older ones are hearing stories of social security being canceled on people like them and they are getting nervous. My vehement Trump supporting co-workers are having trouble backing things he does. The cracks are small and slow but the confidence in their statements of support are getting weaker. I think some support is eroding, but it’s slow. It’s really going to have to affect them more directly for it to fully erode sadly. Though I think it will, the damage the right will inflict in the mean time will change this country for generations.

I hate that I live here have to face consequences for something I was vehemently and vocally against.
- Comment on The billionaires and politicians did it 3 weeks ago:
Do they really think anyone buys these headlines? We’ve been reporting on business and economics for our entire existence, but this one is a real stumper. 🤦🏻
- Comment on Gaming chat platform Discord in early talks with banks about public listing 4 weeks ago:
Well, ever since stock buybacks were re-legalized and other safe guards that once incentivized the health of the company, not only quarterly share holder value. Publicly traded company wasn’t always synonymous with strip mining value. Reagan was an accelerant on that decay for sure.

Agreed, though I don’t think Thiel is involved in Paypal anymore.

The best poll on what people think of Elon.
- Comment on Why do people care about empathy so much when it’s not needed? 5 weeks ago:
Empathy doesn’t matter TO YOU. Society functions on empathy. It is a skill and one you clearly need to develop. You aren’t a good leader if you don’t have it, you just think you are.
- Comment on After 40 years of being free Microsoft has added a paywall to Notepad 5 weeks ago:
Could MS suck any worse? It’s like they want people to not use their products. Capitalism is the ouroboros.
- Comment on is it wrong/selfish to cut contact with my trump-supporting father? 1 month ago:
No. Fuck Trump supporters. Their toxic hate is a detractor worthy of being cut off. If he can’t see how toxic he is, put him in that position and make him choose. Help him understand the truth of project 2025 and then let him decide if being “a man” is more important than being a father.
