how would android or chrome have the funding for development outside of google? really weird plan to fix this, seems like there are going to be a lot of unintended consequences.
and the ironic part about this, it comes at a time when google is on the verge of being destroyed by new technology and their own enshittification. i haven’t relied on google search in years now, it’s so bad. some monopoly

those transmissions are only better on paper. sure they could be theoretically better but in practice the transmission programming is to way over aggressively upshift in order to miser out a little more fuel economy on paper (but in practice they waste fuel)

well, you asked “why” to a different question and i was answering that. but if you understood my response, that would give you the context of why you got downvoted. it comes down to you arguing the opposite of what you think you are, because you didn’t read the article or understand the context of the comment. you ‘chose violence’ instead, for no reason.

- Comment on Apple reveals M3 Ultra, taking Apple silicon to a new extreme 4 weeks ago:
my college buddy and startup cofounder had a pathetically slow old laptop. he asks me the other day, “should i buy an ipad pro?” i was dumbfounded. bro you don’t even have a proper computer. we went around a bunch and he kept trying to get really bad ones like a base model mac mini. finally i persuaded him to get a 16" M1 Pro for a grand (about 700 after his trade in) and he couldn’t be happier.
I’m still using my M1 MBP like 4 years later. Don’t even care to upgrade! these things are great value

i heard of it as kid on some cooking show on PBS in the 90s. I thought it was super weird, but my mom had heard of it. Except it was cheddar cheese, not american. I tried it and thought it was pretty good, so i bring it up when people talk about apple pie. it never fails to weird them out if they’ve never tried it!

having been in combat, with electronic gear designed for the military, i can say this will be a million percent terrible. it’s gonna be too heavy (already they carry too much- i have degenerated discs as do many of my buds) and will break constantly. to say nothing of keeping it charged- who wants range anxiety in a combat situation.
now i will say that going to Iraq radicalized me against war and i filed as a conscientious objector, but back in those days right after 9/11 there wasn’t much of an antiwar movement.
