The hype train is absolutely dangerous.
The anticipation for HL3 would be terribly high, and so would be the expectations of millions of lovers of the franchise, making sure anything other than a perfect game would be met with lots of negative reactions.
And it’s not just about a single game either. A bad HL3 could end up tarnishing the legacy of the other titles, forever ruining what is now a beloved franchise. Remember what happened to Game of Thrones? Who would ever risk something like that happening? Or, speaking of games, look at how much goodwill Bethesda burned with the release of Starfield.

I agree the price is pretty high for what it is, but I wonder how much adding a headphone jack would actually affect it.

I bought the Fairphone 5 and yeah, I miss not having the jack and I see no reason to take it out
- Comment on English may be a hot mess but at least we don't have to worry about this nonsense 8 months ago:
Speaking as a gendered language user (Italian) it is sometimes weird.
For example, car is feminine but our name for an off-road vehicle is masculine, as is the word for truck. Since you have to apply the gender of the noun to verbs, articles and adjectives, which one do you use when talking about your SUV? Feminine because it’s a car or masculine because it’s an offroader?
For borrowed words there’s usually a consensus on gender that forms over time. Sometimes a borrowed word inherits its gender from the translation of that word that fell out of use. One example of this could be the word computer. An equivalent term exists in Italian (calcolatore) which fell out of use but gave it a definite gender, masculine.

- Comment on How many of you actually use the headphone jack on your phone? 11 months ago:
I use earphones to listen to music and take calls hads free quite often.
I recently got a new phone, a Fairphone 5, which doesn’t have a headphone jack, and I’m already missing it.
Listening to music is fine, I just use a USB-C to jack adapter, but I’ve been told people can’t hear me well when I’m doing the same to take a call.
The other day I was in the car with my brother for hours and wanted to put on some music. I couldn’t connect to the car radio via Bluetooth because my brother already was and needed it to take calls and whatnot, so AUX cable here we go. Except apparently my phone does something weird like shutting down the USB port when not in use (reasonable) between songs, creating a noise like when you connect a jack to a powered on speaker, which was super annoying.
So, yes, I use the headphones jack and sorely miss it.

Yes, I wouldn’t run any OS off of anything slower than an SSD.
I was just wondering when it became a “requirement” for games instead of just a good thing to do.

I saw Alan Wake II is also recommended to be run from an SSD. I don’t play the latest titles so my question is, is this a new trend or has it been like this for some time?
- Comment on IBM releases first-ever 1,000-qubit quantum chip 11 months ago:
From what I remember the chip itself is pretty small, the size is all due to the cooling component.
Also keep in mind you’ve probably seen a development version of a quantum computer, where things are set up to be easily accessible to allow fixing and tinkering, without regard for size and optimization of space.

This is just typical the industry, they release a new one instead of just fixing the known bugs in the current version like erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation.
Just one more cash grab.
