- Comment on Climate activists glue themselves to Munich airport runway 5 months ago:
I’m sorry, I was referring to Germans that head down to Mallorca for a weekend to get shitfaced. It doesn’t make sense that a train ride from Hamburg to Munich costs 5 times as much as a flight from Hamburg to Mallorca.
Inner European flights are also important, until we have a dedicated highspeed train network that connects all of Europe’s larger cities with each other.
- Comment on Climate activists glue themselves to Munich airport runway 5 months ago:
I’m absolutely for eliminating domestic flights within European countries. Let’s get some good trains going instead. But traveling the skies is one of humanities greatest achievements and lets us explore other cultures in a way we otherwise never could. Let’s not get rid of those. I don’t want to be trapped here. Ban 30€ flights from Germany to Mallorca? Absolutely! Ban flights from Germany to APAC, Africa or the Americas? Please don’t.
- Comment on No, you don't need a 'very bespoke AOSP' to turn your phone into a Rabbit R1 — here's proof 6 months ago:
But maybe people would like a standalone device, without the distraction a regular smartphone brings.
I’m not defending this thing as AI in it’s current state is near useless, bar some niche applications. But the decision to make it a standalone device isn’t really controversial in my opinion.
- Comment on It definitely *was* a good idea though 6 months ago:
In this case it’s pretty much the same risk as inhaling asbestos dust. Fun fact, in the past beer was filtered through asbestos, which was perfectly safe because asbestos is only dangerous when inhaled. Nowadays it’s filtered through Kieselgur because it’s properties are pretty much identical to those of asbestos.

I don’t know man, I loved YouTube back in the days when people made videos for shits and giggles. No one expected money from that.
- Comment on YouTube Tests Showing Ads When You Pause a Video, Calls it ''Pause Ads'' 6 months ago:
You can use Revanced for example. Alphabet is trying to fuck that up too, but it’s still going strong. Plus, a revanced YouTube is a lot better than the regular app. Want to get rid of Shorts? Revanced will let you get rid of those shitty videos for good. Hate sponsor messages in Videos? Revanced will let you integrated sponsorblock.
The day that revanced won’t work anymore is the day I’ll stop using YouTube.
- Comment on Apple keeps flogging 8GB of RAM for its Mac computers but it's still a dead horse 6 months ago:
Given how terrible Teams performes, I’d dread to have merely 8GB to run it on.
- Comment on Whoops 6 months ago:
Thing is, I wouldn’t even know where to get those. Torx is readily available, often even at an Aldi.
- Comment on Whoops 6 months ago:
Yeah, Torx is the way to go!
- Comment on The Fairphone 5 is less about what comes in the box and more about what you get over the years 8 months ago:
- can’t charge the phone when the USB port is in use
- can’t use the aux input of any external devices
- can’t use the headphones with anything else
- shitty experience as someone else here mentioned
- …
I like my Pixel 7 Pro but its also my first phone without a headphone jack and I hate it. Bluetooth is such a shitty standard and the USB dongles suck ass too. Why the fuck did they have to get rid of something so simple and practical…

Dick Berman is also a nice touch

Ich tu dir weh, Stein um Stein, Wiener Blut, etc.
All fantastic songs, but I don’t get joy from them anymore unfortunately.
- Comment on Crystals good, fungus bad 11 months ago:
I can look past the mycelial network. I just can’t tolerate some of the characters. And unfortunately they decided to focus on one main character. And that character’s main feature is to cry throughout the entire series, despite being raised by vulcans. Also the pacing of the show is very annoying. It’s high tension drama, all the time.
I watched the whole thing. There were some episodes that kinda gave me hope. Those usually were the ones that weren’t part of the main plot. But the next episode it went back to the same dramatic formula.
Oh, and Tilly. What the hell man? How did she get into Starfleet??
That said, I’m happy people enjoy it! It’s just not for me.
- Comment on Don't know where else to say this ... but I'm enjoying the new shows on my own. 11 months ago:
I don’t know, I kinda like the discussions. It’s rarely really toxic, just people having strong opinions. And a lot of it is legit. I kinda like Enterprise, but there’s also a whole bunch of things that are wrong with it. A lot of these discussions end up explaining things about the lore or end up being memes.

- Comment on the Dragonball-Z powerup scream is just the "boy" version of the magical girl transformation sequence 1 year ago:
Hmm, now that you mention it, I think it was quite similar in Germany. But I personally don’t know many people who watched these shows. It was still quite a niche thing. But you’re right, they weren’t considered weebs. Probably because the Germans are so unaware of foreign cultures, most don’t even know what that means.
- Comment on the Dragonball-Z powerup scream is just the "boy" version of the magical girl transformation sequence 1 year ago:
Absolutely. In Germany at least, anime is a very niche thing. Hardly anyone watches it here. I can’t stand anime because of the lazy animation, though I do appreciate the creativity story-wise.
