And I love them for it. Seriously comfortable society is built on and by nerds.
- Comment on What is the argument for making poor/working class folks shoulder the burden of taxes? 3 weeks ago:
There are many and they’re all bad.
- Comment on Why is Kamala Harris being held at such a higher standard than Trump this election? 2 months ago:
Wait, is this really idpol? The MAGA crowd are mostly very racist people. They would dislike anyone who isn’t a rich white male.

You’re the only one talking about suicide here.

I still think a good chunk of the code will be visible. You can have all the code up to the point where you call the proprietary function. Obviously you won’t get to see what’s inside that function but you can guess. Also, a lot of proprietary libraries have that functionality really well documented.
- Comment on Marvels Rivals requires creators to sign a contract that removes your right to give a negative review to access the playtest 6 months ago:
That’s by design. They weren’t interested in writing a good game or getting honest feedback. They wanted everyone to buy it and get money for it.
- Comment on A conversation with my wife 6 months ago:
I think it comes down to whether or not there is negative stigma with being circumcised.
We all have to set our own bar on this one, from my perspective, I don’t see that society really cares if a person is cut or uncut.
I would say that if this is causing problems for your life, then you should consider seeking therapy. Even if it turns out that society is gunning for you, getting help can make it easier to live in that society.
- Comment on A conversation with my wife 6 months ago:
My dude, I’m circumcised.
I don’t get out much, is this a thing that happens a lot? I guess I don’t openly declare I’m circumcised to my social group. So there’s no way that they would know. But if they did would they make that a big deal? I have a hard time imagining that they would even care.
Are you sure this is a societal problem and not a friend group problem?
- Comment on A conversation with my wife 6 months ago:
I assume there’s more context than just the statements. If someone randomly happens to use the word cut or snippy in a sentence, I don’t think that means they are making fun of a circumcision.
- Comment on Thomas Edison was the Elon musk of his era 6 months ago:
A random person was just so upset that there was a post about a topic that they personally don’t care about, that they decided to whine about it in said post.
A lot of people care about cars. In some countries they are required to do anything.
So, do you do this often?
- Comment on Come on, science! 6 months ago:
The science on most of this stuff is done already. Most of your requests could be implemented tomorrow. No problem.
This is not a science problem. This is a capitalism problem.

- Comment on Piers Morgan gets owned 9 months ago:
Well, it’s not a fair argument but non-communist countries have starved a lot more people to death than Communist countries ever had, but something tells me you’re not really here to learn anything or that you care for fair arguments.
- Comment on Get to work, crackheads 9 months ago:
They didn’t say that, but they definitely implied it. If OP said that, they would be getting a little visit from the police or FBI.
- Comment on CEOs say generative AI will result in job cuts in 2024 10 months ago:
I wonder how well an AI would be able to do a CEO’s job? Why not start with the most expensive employee?

Upvoating for comedy not accuracy.
It’s unlikely to create a successful business late in life, but not impossible. Best of luck to all who are giving it a shot!
- Comment on New Report: Over 40% of Google Drive Files Contain Sensitive Info 11 months ago:
The first step towards societal change is to admit we have a problem. Studies like this are a necessary first step.
- Comment on They forgot the LGBTQ... 11 months ago:
I think the content is good. The art feels a little rough, not sure if it is a style or not. If the original author is new at this stuff, this is pretty good. Everyone has to start somewhere.
- Comment on US kids want games subscriptions and virtual currency more than games this Christmas 11 months ago:
Yeah, but that is kinda like saying US healthcare is better than it was 50 years ago. You’re correct, but why make the comparison?
It would be best if game developers didn’t encourage kids to subscribe to their games. Just buy them like we did when I was growing up.
- Comment on Judge finds evidence that Tesla, Musk knew about Autopilot defect 11 months ago:
You can have middle managers that will hide stuff from the c suite.
That’s not good and those middle managers should be corrected, but it can happen.

- Comment on USB inventor explains why the connector was not designed to be reversible 1 year ago:
I don’t even know that I would call it inexperience. I just think a major attempt at the first pass was selling the idea of USB. You can design a perfect cable, plug, and protocol, it doesn’t mean anyone will use it. Most investors don’t know much about the technical details of a product. They do, however, understand the price. If you’re trying to make a difference in the world, you don’t always get to do it with style and quality.
- Comment on Unity CEO John Riccitiello is retiring, effective immediately 1 year ago:
Out with the old guy and in with the new guy. No change to the incentive structure. I wonder if things will turn out differently this time?
I hope Unity users will get to continue to use the tool they have spent so many hours learning. I also think the industry should try to make things more CEO proof.
