I completely agree. What’s more, none of my hobbies have a lot of posts. I myself am an occasional poster at best and I’m not interested in being one of at most 4 people posting in those communities. I’m thinking about finding a third party or otherwise foss or just better reddit client and just browsing.
Lastly, it’s fucking impossible to avoid politics on lemmy, american politics especially. Even in communities that I wouldn’t say are explicitly political, people find ways to squirm in some bullshit. I’m tired, boss. Mostly I’m tired of people being ugly to each other.

The other commenter fucked up instance vs community. Technically the admins moderate every community on their instance. It’s just that the post/comments didn’t violate instance rules I guess.

It just feels like I’ve been living in a Wikipedia article’s “Events leading up to…” section all my life. Now, I don’t want to monkey paw it, it’s not like I want to live in the Wikipedia article’s main events section.
- Comment on Top Russian economist dies after falling out of window 3 months ago:
In a few hundred years it’ll be written that during this time a whole bunch of people with important jobs died in Russia by falling out of windows, and there will be people thinking ‘no way’, when actually, ‘yes way’. I’m a little tired of watching history happening in my lifetime, ngl.

Ngl I watched the video and it really seemed to me like Jack Black said “thank you” as a way to smile and nod and move on. Regardless of whether or not he thinks it, whether he agrees, whether he’s said it in private, whether he’s a democrat, he’s not the one who said it. What do people expect him to have done? Call off the show then and there, scold his bandmate on what’s politically acceptable to say?
It was absolutely the wrong thing to say and Gass is reaping what he sowed, but it sucks to see Jack Black catch so much shit by association. I don’t think he played it wrong. He broke up the band, man. What else does he have going on?

I just beat this guy. Walked in with a colossal hammer and pancaked him. Took two tries because the first time I didn’t realize he didn’t turn into the fat one, but it was a summon instead.
I don’t really have much advice, really. Run sideways towards him when he spams projectiles, dodge into the big projectile, ignore his summons since your big hammer will hit them too anyway.

It definitely shows some bosses we haven’t seen before, and the narration hints at what the story might be, or at least the surface level that represents this character’s narrative. For the most part, it’s a bit like watching the original release trailer.
You don’t need to watch it to know, it is fucking epic. I am hyped beyond all measure. We are so fucking back.

I really believe that this has nothing to do with kids. “For the kids” has made me suspicious of intentions for a long time. It makes it difficult to argue against it because it implies that you’re a pedo or are doing something illegal otherwise. You implement general monitoring “for the kids”, and then you add some anti piracy stuff to it, then you add some hate group detection, some anti government group detection, etc. Now you have everything you need to get ahead of any danger to the government. If the people can’t organize, you can do whatever you want.

I would like to pay for YT Premium, but I think the service is bad. The product is good, and the service is bad.
If I say I don’t want to see this video, I don’t want to see this fucking video again, youtube. I said don’t recommend this channel, and you said I won’t see it again, but I just refreshed, and there it is. I am not dutch, I don’t speak dutch, I’ve never even been to the Netherlands. I shouldn’t be seeing videos in dutch.
Routinely, I have to go through my home page and try to train the algorithm but I’ve just given up. I got an extension now that just permanently removes channels and videos I don’t want to see.
The thing is… the product is the videos, and youtube doesn’t do the videos. Youtube does the service, and the service is bad. I understand that the ads pay the youtubers but the truth is I don’t care. That pay is trash, and if they want my premium money, youtubers should unionize and force youtube to improve the service.

I don’t have that blocked, and use the youtube website, so I see it at least once a week.
