- Comment on How should one access their servers when in China if at all? 4 days ago:
Get a new phone for use while traveling, then dump it when you’re back home. Leave your services behind.
- Comment on Universe would die before monkey with keyboard writes Shakespeare, study finds 2 weeks ago:
Two Australian mathematicians have deemed it misleading, working out that even if all the chimpanzees in the world were given the entire lifespan of the universe, they would “almost certainly” never pen the works of the bard.
all the chimpanzees in the world
infinite monkeys
I’m glad they had fun doing some math, but this is not news, nor is the original saying misleading. With an infinite number of monkeys, a smaller-yet-still-infinite number of them would produce the works of Shakespeare. The reason this saying works is because of the concept of infinity, not some random finite number.

- Comment on Do PhDs HAVE to use Dr? 3 weeks ago:
No one has to do anything. Live your life. Choose how you want to be addressed.
You don’t hear lawyers going around being called Dr. Lastname, despite having JDs.
- Comment on Where to start as a beginner 3 weeks ago:
Start with running something in docker. Probably get
containous/whoami
running, thenportainer
, then eithertraefik
orcaddy
.Once you’ve got that all working, you can run anything you want easily.
If you’ve got an old machine lying around, you can use that to start.

There are some domain names that have requirements but nothing like you’re thinking. The only one I would consider automatically providing useful information would be .gov.

I always forget that. Instinct is to put things in the center.
- Comment on Would you consider making a sandwich to be "cooking?" 1 month ago:
Depends on the sandwich. If you’re constructing a sandwich without using heat, I would consider that “making lunch” or “making dinner” but not explicitly cooking. I’m not sure that the difference matters in any significant situations, though. Why are you asking?
- Comment on Programmatic access to discord 2 months ago:
Check out Discord’s Webhooks; many applications publish notifications through them. Should be as easy as sending a message to a specific URL, I think.
- Comment on Why is there no Christmas version of Spirit Halloween? 2 months ago:
I believe you’re looking for Christmas tree farms.
Also, there are so many year-round Christmas shops.
Also also, Spirit is mostly for costumes, which aren’t relevant to Christmas.

Therapy. Also focusing on your hobbies and filling your life with joys that don’t focus on a datemate. But definitely therapy.
- Comment on Where Are You Supposed To Buy Pajama Shirts? 2 months ago:
They usually come as pajama sets that have matching pants and shirts. I’d check places like Target, JCPenney, etc.

Check out ReoLink cameras; you can set them up and use them fully locally.
- Comment on What are some things you can do to maintain your teeth when you don't have health insurance and can't afford dental care? 3 months ago:
You can get dental work for cheap or free by reaching out to dental schools near you. They always need patients for their students.

The trouble is, you’re looking for internal consistency to their arguments. You need to look at the theme of the arguments: namely, they don’t like the “black people exist in the USA” part.

- Comment on Traefik conditional certificate for same URL 6 months ago:
Why would you need to continue using the self-signed certificates for the Cloudflare connection? Just use the valid certificate for all connections.
