I’m sure a certain percentage of people can’t spell mastodon.

I definitely completed it solo. Finding spell books definitely helps, but just crafting spells with the given elements can be more than enough to muddle through.
You can give yourself armor to assist in your normal squishy wizard self that definitely helps with the tougher bits.

I agree with all points, each of these characters has been fleshed out enough that it’s simple enough to know that Kazuma would take one bad death and instantly NEET himself into a hole as fast as possible… and if anything would somehow get himself in a death softlock where he likely couldn’t progress… but if the story was written in a way where Kazuma was the main protagonist and the various needs to get him moving were placed before him, I believe it’d be many times more enjoyable to watch than the understandably determined Subaru.
If Kazuma wasn’t able to hole up and was plot railroaded on like it sometimes seems Subaru is, I think he’d figure out the best (quick/painless) ways to reset himself and generally move things along at a better clip.
More importantly than that though, his understanding of the death system would lead to WAAAAAAY worse checkpoints. He’s not the kind of guy to act with any care given to consequences when he knows that death is a quick reset away from whatever he does. The actual timeline for Kazuma would be cursed to the point that his actions assuming no consequences would probably be the thing to get him softlocked in a horrible ending of constant death.

I had this conversation with a friend last weekend about how I’d enjoy the show multitudes more if Kazuma of konosuba and Subaru switched places. Not saying Subaru isn’t protagonist material, but saying that growth for him is slow doesn’t begin to describe it.
And for all of Kazuma’s faults, he’s nothing if not a clever schemer.

I haven’t noticed too many of them running rampant this year. Though I certainly did have one jump on me yesterday.

It is the clear winner this season.
The other podium winners are continuations with large fan bases… Out of this list though, I’m only watching 2 of them.

No in all regards. If you include name, type, and flavor text, this card is 5 lines, not more than 5.

At least 3 Mario, Zelda, and Kirby games each. Maybe 1 or 2 metroids, splatoons, and megamans. At most one first party kart, party, and smash.

I fell off from the game for a number of reasons back when deimos was released. I went back to it to catch up on quests and a lot of original gripes of why I left in the first place.

It spent many years around spot 7. It has since fallen off.

- Comment on What have your favorite underrated anime of the 2020's been so far? 1 month ago:
It definitely set out and met what it was attempting to do. I can’t fault it for that. Watching it one episode spaced a week apart it is a glorious reboot. They definitely did more work on the world building aspects. It feels much more like a place that is alive more than the original which was more or less just barren wastes unless plot device.

I tried to split my list genres so there’d be a bit of everything, but I definitely agree with most of yours. My only gripe is trigun.
I understand how they took the source material and completely warped it to attempt to fit a new story and give it a whole new life of its own, and minute to minute the show is fine, it’s when you look at the whole story being told at once that things start falling apart and giant plot holes start showing up. Particularly in the first half of the season. The makers wanted a spectacle more than anything else and they delivered on that.

considering it’s on three different peoples suggested so far, I daresay it’s likely worth a watch.

I generally watch the first episode of every new anime (and have been since the beginning of 2020)… The Vtuber one didn’t especially catch me in that time, but it’s not the firs tto slip through the cracks. I’ll give it another go.

- Comment on 'Best' jobs for college grads.. most paying unlivable wages. 2 months ago:
Sorry if any of that was insulting, it wasn’t meant that way it’s just that a relatively small regional business being as high on the list as it is. The international mega corporations should be able to use their resources to gain collective bargaining agreements for their employees benefit packages. job opportunities, etc. that should at the very least rival that of what a company making significantly less annually can manage.
Comparing the profit of In-N-Out in 2023 (545mil) to the profit of on the giants like Microsoft (72.7bil)… it just doesn’t make sense that a company profiting that much more with ‘only’ 5x more workers can’t even breach the top 10 of the listing. That’s the dystopian part of this. At least Google was in the top 10, but the ratio there is even worse.
- Comment on 'Best' jobs for college grads.. most paying unlivable wages. 2 months ago:
The thing that shocked me is that a regional burger joint is out performing the worlds most influential, giant corporations that basically rule over nearly every aspect of our daily lives in many ways. The dystopia here is not that burger flipping shouldn’t pay a living wage, it’s that if you can get the benefits In-N-Out gives as a relatively small regional burger joint… gosh those giant bloated corporations sure are dystopian.
- Comment on 'Best' jobs for college grads.. most paying unlivable wages. 2 months ago:
Take a step back and realize it the other way around. A burger chain is the SECOND BEST EMPLOYER by study of 400 companies, likely including many of the fortune 500. The issue isn’t that it’s a burger place, that in and of itself really shows how dystopian how the rest of the pool is. It’s not in spite of In-N-Out, it’s In-N-Out showing what employment should mean. If a burger chain can do it… why can’t… everyone?

And it’s the perfect fit for a VR game as well. The top down towering from the heavens over your domain would make the island feel like a table top game… And you could give your pet proper scritches.

I played the absolute mess out of TXR and TXR2 on dreamcast. Loved those games so much. I recently went back to play them again, and the simple effects to show the illusion of speed are still great. This will be one to keep an eye on, though it’s hard to be optimistic anymore.
