No, it’s an existential horror novel about having your body stolen so some alien can get laid. It just has romantic tie-ins with the alien trying to get laid.

- Comment on When did it become normalized to start passing credit card processing fees to the customer? 3 days ago:
Only chiming in for statistics. Where I live NC, USA; Almost nowhere charges a fee for credit/debit card use unless it’s a third-party ATM. But even then those typically are only there to account for cash-only payments like lottery or coin changers.
Not saying that it doesn’t suck, but I acknowledge that if your entire business is providing ATM services, a one-time sale is money lost, which is money that would go to support/maintenance.
I work at the dry-clean counter of a laundromat, and it’s cheaper to use quarters (which everyone has and can be exchanged anywhere) than to manufacture proprietary payment options. We only have like 6 machines that take credit cards, and they put a $10 hold on the account.
Compared to a $3 ATM fee to change $20 into quarters, it’s a million times more efficient, economically and ecologically.

I’ve been following these from the first edition, and now I finally understand the reason he did the thing.

YMMV, but less than a month after Colorado legalized, my dealer brought me headies after I asked for mids. Told him I wanted mids for the price-point and he said he couldn’t find mids anymore.
The stuff at the store is still a little better than what he brings (typically) for similar price-point, but yeah, lower quality stuff is getting less common.

Not sure, the only game I played before BG3 was Dark Alliance 2 on PS2 around 20 years ago. Well that and homebrew 3.5e/5e tabletop, but that obviously was unrelated story-wise.
- Comment on 1 week ago:
Yeah, not sure who was in which games, but Minsc and Jaheira were grouped with one of the protagonists, and at least one of the games had another Bhal spawn.
- Comment on 1 week ago:
Somewhat. It’s story is mostly independent, but it does take place after 2 and therefore has canonized several of the decisions you could make in 2, as well as a few returning characters.

Wow! Thanks, I was right about the numbers being neato, but it’s also depressing to think about. 😭

Agreed, just gonna point out that not all (though certainly most) of them are American. Elon and Prince Andrew being good examples.
Side thought, I’d like to see the ratio of billionaires by nationality. I imagine most would be either American or Chinese, but would be interesting numbers to look at. 🤔

I’m only a secondhand source at best, but one of my customers works for city hall and says she met him once, and while she doesn’t know if it was shit or BO, he smells atrocious. I forget her exact words, but ‘dumpster fire’ would have been a kind estimate.

Water gun. Then you can aim it directly at their face and get their entire mask soaked in it. Bonus points for dehydrated, stinky piss.

Probably, I stopped listening after a while. But I do remember him being A Trump supporter for all the same reasons an edgy teen supported Trump in 2015. ‘But the Republicans were fighting against slavery’, like, yes bitch, group ideology changes over time. 🙄

See that’s another thing. He fully believes the illuminati are real. But he doesn’t think it’s the people that are obviously close to that truth in reality (Trump, Musk, Putin, Epstein, etc).

No, there’s actual people like that. The guy I mentioned in my comment came into work one day, claiming that the moon makes its own light. I once asked him if he had heard of the Stargate series. He paused, looked me dead in the eye, and said, super seriously, “yes and Stargates are real.”
There are people that honestly believe this shit. The only thing is now they have the internet to convince each other that it’s all real.

because I’m younger than him and vaccinated.
Bruh your friend is a conspiracy theorist. There’s no arguing with him because he already thinks Bill Gates created the Corona virus to exterminate humans so the underground lizard men can retake the surface (actual quote from a conspiracy theorist I used to know, and claimed the same kinda batshit bullshit your friend is saying).
Honestly? Your best bet is to just not engage with them when topics like that come up. Incredibly difficult (sometimes impossible) to get them to realize the fairy tales they’ve convinced themselves are real.
If it gets too much to handle, probably best to cut ties.

- Comment on Wait... Is Chewbacca a Spacesquatch? 3 weeks ago:
No, sasquatch is sasquatch because it’s a humanoid enigma, a lone being that’s different from almost everything around it.
Wookies have an entire planet and space faring society.
Sasquatch is an exiled Wookie.
