I have no idea how popular it is but Ubuntu Touch and Postmarket have a wider device compatibility so I’d guess those will statistacally have to be more popular.
Jolla is a niche within a niche and has limited availability last I checked. Which is a shame as they seem to be offering some sort of compatibility layer that seems to enable you to just install Android apps. I’d love to see that on the others.

They use their own SailfishOS

- Comment on Google gives Android users a way to install unverified apps if they prove they really, really want to 4 days ago:
/e/ OS is just a degoogled Android (similar to Graphene, but not so security oriented). You can install the same apps - though some might not work properly.
Sailfish OS is Linux, but if I understand it correctly they have a compatibility layer enabling you to seamlessly install Android apps on it.
- Comment on This is Android's new 'advanced flow' for sideloading apps without verification, includes one-day waiting period 5 days ago:
At this point it is a waiting game. My next phone might be Android, but I sure hope the mobile Linux ecosystem is in a good place for the one after that. Preferably I’d switch on nearest opportunity though. I still have some time left in terms of support for my current phone so I have time to think and test the waters.

Is there nuclear Armageddon? Congrats, you win. But since we are likely dead and money is likely worthless anyway so you win nothing.
There isn’t one? Well there could be one tomorrow! Keep the bets going folks!
- Comment on Motorola confirms GrapheneOS support for a future phone, bringing over features 3 weeks ago:
How I see it:
Fairphone focuses on sustainability and modularity, with degoogled OS options.
Graphene focuses on security and privacy. Degoogled out of the box.

The way I understand it, you need a non-stock Android that wouldn’t enforce the cert requirements

Really excited for this. Gothic 1 is still one of if not the favorite. But it was janky even back then. Can’t imagine playing the original today, but hipefuly this one turns out fine.

I mostly enjoyed the world and the overall story. I really enjoyed the slow uncovering of what happened and how the world became what it is.

- Comment on How do you communicate "sorry, my bad" when you make a mistake while driving? 1 month ago:
I only ever used or interpreted this as a thank you. But in the end, if someone makes an error and then flashes a “thank you” at me I usually let it slide because at least they said thanks. So I guess it works.

Except the City of Heroes one, all are unofficial. But for the shut down MMOs, nobody really cares afaik. Sure there are cease and desists for private servers for live games, but never heard of such takedowns for servers running for “dead” games.

- Comment on Proton launches privacy-first alternative to Excel and Google Sheets 3 months ago:
I’m in a similar boat. I had Proton Unlimited because of a good deal they had, downgraded back to Mail Plus and got Mullvad for VPN (which looks to me better than Proton).
The thing about Proton is they make it easy to degoogle. I can easily set up gmail stuff to be forwarded for things I didn’t switch yet (or people who didn’t catch on the fact I changed emails) and they have a whole suite of products.
But really, if Tuta introduces a Drive on feature parity, I will consider a switch - though it will be pain to change everything again.

Doesn’t make them necessarily evil. But yeah, overall I’d agree with you on it. I’m certainly in my guard since then though.

I remember there being a little more to it, but I don’t have receipts. They did fairly reasonable PR explanation which lowered my concern a little - but some doubts stayed with me for sure.

Yeah, I guess it depends on how you look at it and what are your limits on this stuff. I can see why you disagree even with me for sure.
It definitely didn’t look great. It certainly didn’t inspire confidence. Not bad enough for me to leave (once the head cooled), but enough for me to consider it if a competitor comes up with a similar offering (looking at Tuta Drive once they introduce it).
