Nah don’t worry!! It’s really not a you problem, it’s the UK OSA - Imgur blocked API access from UK IPs, nothing a VPN doesn’t fix

- Comment on How come Netflix removed the N from their shows, kind of make it seem like they borrow all the stuff? I usually use it for a segway into other shows/movies not made by them? 6 days ago:
Aside from knowing that it’s spelled segue, I have no idea, sorry

I wish I didn’t go all in on digital, but then the space not taken up by physical media (in my case, >1,000 games) is also valuable to me. I’ll have to settle for keeping copies of whatever isn’t DRM locked, and pirate whatever is.
- Comment on How Are You Guys Handling This? 1 week ago:
Can confirm.
Most games I run on Heroic are free giveaways from Epic. Those are, to the best of my knowledge, all Windows. Heroic handles the compatibility with Proton, similar to how Steam does it. With a fancypants workaround you can even install Sims 4 as a direct game exe

I’m not. You can still buy valid 12 month Xbox Live Gold subscriptions for under £40, close to the £36 before Game Pass took over. Fuck the new price. The Gold codes translate to Game Pass Core. But if you want Ultimate, well don’t let me get between your lips and Microsoft’s expensive arsehole

I use Ironwolf on Android. Fennec is nice. There’s also Klar/Focus, but it is so stripped down it doesn’t have Firefox Sync.
- Comment on Teenage Jehovah's Witness can receive blood transfusion, judge rules 2 weeks ago:
She’s a child grown and conditioned entirely in the restrictive cult, knowing only what the Elders and her conditioned family taught her - the beliefs are hardly her own, let alone her medical choices. Poor kid is just one of thousands of victims of the Witnesses’ doctrines.

Pretty sure the emissions and market starvation is what’s ‘toxic’. A more correct term would be ‘lousy’

- Comment on When a parent's primary/preferred language differs from their child(ren)'s primary/preferred language, who should have the most "obligation" to learn more of the other's primary language? 4 weeks ago:
I’d say you speak theirs - I say this not because of any tradition, but I’ve been taught that younger minds are more open to learning. Apparently that shit decreases at you age, so the idea is it’d be easier for the younger one to learn the basics of another language.

I’m locked in a contract with a company that enshittified their services a little and assigns restrictive IPs to non-Business customers that have been using port 25, but am switching to a more libre ISP as soon as it ends. I basically snoozed and didn’t realise the ISP hadn’t been rated the best for several years.
