I did a bit of googling as you unlocked that memory, but it’s actually Girls Do Porn.
If anyone hasn’t heard of them, you can read about it here arstechnica.com/…/jane-does-v-girlsdoporn-how-22-…
It’s absolutely horrendous and I feel incredibly sorry for these women. It definitely made me feel uncomfortable watching porn for a while.

Honestly that would seem like the most common sense idea that anyone would/could draw up from this, and for the most part I think this is what the gov is trying to do.
I think there’s an unstated side effect from the Online Safety Act which nobody seems to be talking about - using the new powers to effectively censor Palestinian protests online.
You can read about it some more: openrightsgroup.org/…/human-rights-defenders-rais…
I’ve genuinely never felt so depressed about voting in this government in my entire life. Actual gross dystopian bullshit.

I’ll just copy and paste what I wrote elsewhere
I have to say since this whole anti porn in games thing has happened, I’ve ironically exposed myself to more porn games.
Before I wouldn’t imagine playing porn games. Ever since the itch unban, I’ve tried a few games on itch.io to see what the fuss was about and got absolutely hooked on Queens Brothel - to the point where I’ve paid for the full version on Patreon. And now I’ve got these games on my gog library.
If the Christian brothers and sisters at Collective Shout wanted less people exposed to porn games, lol. lmao even.

Is there other platforms that are out there estimating our ages?
I know the whole age gate thing - being in the UK, believe me, I know. I’ve just never had a service go “we can’t show you content. No, don’t tell us your age, we’ll work it out from the data we’ve collected from you”.
That’s a whole new one for me, I must admit.

This comment is pure poetry. I actually want to have it on my wall, with a beautiful frame.

I saw that and went “fuck right off”

Unfortunately that would involve using the Brave browser, which is an antifeature in itself.

I think IRC wins by being around the longest, but also being dead simple to set up and use.
I tried using Matrix and it just honestly frazzled my head a little. I know it’s just a few extra steps to get registered, but it honestly feels like a few extra bits of friction to what amounts to trying to join a big social circle.

Not buying Ubisoft games makes the player experience more fun.

Do I:
- Run a few commands to disable one app and keep my phone intact
OR
- Install a whole new OS to avoid one dumb AI app, and the OS only works with Pixel phones (which isn’t even my phone as I actively avoid touching anything Google in the first place)…
A tricky decision, indeed.
