Except we'll have to keep using it because the rest of our families and friends are going to still be on there or pester us about why we aren't there with them to share photos of your sister-in-law's baby photos and videos and your aunt Tammy's vacation photos.

You don't want ideology to be mixed with a social networking service. It can get problematic. Maybe it hasn't yet for you. But it might. So might as well switch now to something neutral.

Right???
That's why I buy a lot of used stuff now or repair the ones I got.
Repair shops will be like "a new one'll cost less" and I'm like "don't care, fix it."
I really hope my early 2000's Sony Bravia 720p tiny ass TV never dies on me. It's a dumb TV but has all the connections for retro gaming consoles.

No! That's the thing! I'm not trolling you.
My girlfriend wanted to see Bruce Springsteen last year and this is what happened. (Sorry it's in French, please use Google Translate)

You must be trolling.
Many artists have issues with the ticketing services and recognize there is a predatory monopoly. Even Taylor Swift has a problem with it.
And there are no normal jobs that pay enough to afford a regular music concert ticket at over 500$. Heck, I make 6 figures and couldn't afford that with the current cost of living.

Or how about we break up the monopoly for the event tickets business and make the outrageous dynamic pricing tactic illegal so we can finally afford to go see live events at decent prices.

Can't afford any freakin thing, really.
I want to go see a live show to encourage an artist directly? It costs an arm and a leg in fees because one company owns all the show ticket offices in all the venues.

Hahaha right? They sold the lie so well. But it's so easy to do when you control the majority of the world's media, whether it's news, radio, television, cinema, or online streaming.

- Comment on How much should a game cost? 1 month ago:
Honestly, I've paid less for incredible games sold by small independent gaming studios and even individuals, than for big gaming studios' established IP games that weren't that innovative or fun. 80$ for a game is quite a commitment. 50$ is more reasonable. 20-30$ is a good range.
Personally I'm always waiting for sales to get my games as cheap as possible.

Diaspora had it going on I found. It's a shame it didn't catch on. And that they didn't adapt it to ActivityPub.
