- Comment on Corcoran Group CEO says Gen Z’s housing market struggles mirror what boomers faced 30 years ago: ‘Stop buying Starbucks coffee,’ she advises 3 days ago:
The median price of a home in the U.S. is about $460,000.
Let’s say by some miracle someone is able to put 20% down to avoid PMI so the cost is now $368,000. On a 7% 30 year loan your monthly payments will be $2,448/month.
So if those darn Gen Z would stop spending $80, literally every day, at Starbucks, they could afford a home.
People that say shit like this are wealthy enough to be completely out of touch with reality.
- Comment on GoFundMe CEO says the economy is so bad that more of his customers are crowdfunding just to pay for their groceries 5 days ago:
The GoFundMe CEO hopes younger donors, who are often more values-driven, digitally native, and community-oriented, will push giving higher and faster.
He doesn’t want the bad situation to get better, just make his company more money.
- Comment on How the hell are there already shirts, hats and even jerseys made for the winning teams of some championships? 2 weeks ago:
All the merch is created before the games in the U.S. has both teams winning. The merch for the losing team is sent as a “donation” to poorer countries, but it’s basically just to get it out of the U.S. because they don’t want it being sold here.
- Comment on "Pro-life" and "pro-choice" aren't actually opposite positions 5 weeks ago:
The opposite of pro-life would be anti-life. When people say they’re pro-life they’re really only anti-abortion. They don’t care if the human dies as long as the fetus isn’t aborted.
- Comment on Chinese companies cracked the code on getting people at home hooked. Now, they're exporting that playbook globally. 5 weeks ago:
Aggressive marketing, random promotions, and cheap goods. Wal-Mart should try this.
- Comment on And I thought it would be a happy ending for the kid 2 months ago:
It’s from 2021. The kid did make the fake Nintendo from a box, but he wasn’t given a cease and desist letter, he wasn’t sued by Nintendo, and he also didn’t receive a Nintendo. Nothing else happened.
- Comment on Power prices are expected to soar under new tax cut and spending law 3 months ago:
This is exactly what right wing media will say, and their cultists will believe it.

I didn’t grow up in Wyoming but it was a rural state in the U.S. People romanticize rural areas until they actually live in one. If if you have a large town nearby and and your wealthy, or at least upper middle class it might be ok, but I’d highly recommend not staying where you are.
It’s not just the medical care, it’s the culture. When you move to a rural area, if you aren’t at least the 3rd generation you’ll be looked at and treated as an outsider. That doesn’t mean people will be hostile towards you, but you won’t really be part of the community either.
The entertainment, food, and shopping options are also be very limited.

Much like the mass shootings in the U.S., there’s literally no solution for this. /s
