- Comment on Why is the manosphere on the rise? UN Women sounds the alarm over online misogyny 1 week ago:
I mean, there are reasons that women need to be away from men sometimes. And it’s not because we’re having a wonderful time in life. And this “manosphere” is only creating more dangerous situations for us.
- Comment on Why is the manosphere on the rise? UN Women sounds the alarm over online misogyny 1 week ago:
Correlating education to wealth is fine overall but you are intentionally avoiding more direct metrics of wealth and inequality to make it seem as if this is direct causation for women having some upper hand.
Women absolutely make less and hold a significantly smaller portion of the overall wealth in this country.
Women routinely have to leave their careers to manage the home and their family (due to archaic misogynistic gender roles). There is also just straight up bias in management decisions about pay.

This was not the case in North Carolina

I did and it seems to have gotten even more off track and deeply into this magical idea that women and other minorities (not sure why they were brought into it) somehow have easier lives?

Having been homeless before, the resources were not different for me or my partner, male, at the time. Separate sleeping quarters obviously. But the same exact resources.
Genuinely what are you talking about…Where is this?

And what about the women in that same boat? I’m confused by your argument

- Comment on Where Have All My Deep Male Friendships Gone? 4 weeks ago:
As a woman with a few close male friends that I love very much, I wish it was more ok to hug and hold hands with them. I wish that friends, regardless of gender, could be close.
For some reason, in America, we just assume some kind of sexual attraction or relationship when people have any kind of physical contact.
But, man, sometimes I just want to hug my best friend when we’re both going through it. Sometimes, I just want to hold hands for the comfort of knowing that we’ve got each other. There’s nothing more to this want. It’s as simple as that. But it feels like an impossible dream for society to ever accept this.
So I don’t. And it hurts.
I dream of a day when men and women can all open up freely to each other, equally and without stigma. And a day when we can all comfort each other without rumors or questions.
- Comment on Partner has ADD, do I have misophonia? 5 weeks ago:
Yes that is the most heinous smacking of all. I cannot tolerate it.
- Comment on Partner has ADD, do I have misophonia? 5 weeks ago:
Yep. I have ADHD and I’d never subject someone else to the cooking video I forgot about, with the tutorial I’m watching, with the Spotify playlist I forgot was on, while the menu track plays on the game I was about to play.
This would be torture for any other human. Even if I, with my ADHD, walked into a room that sounded just like what I just described, I’d be incredibly unable to concentrate. I can only tune out a cacophony of my own doing.
Also, OP, I have misophonia, and this is not that. You are rightfully unable to handle this level of noise. Misophonia is more an intolerance to certain specific sounds. Like I’m 100% peaceful but random kissing noises and smacking make me imagine driving a dagger into someone’s chest. That sort of thing.

What’s the word for dumping a novel of slop like this?

what?

Instead of simply accepting that one might be attracted to a spectrum of different kinds of people, they immediately feel internal guilt, directed outwards as hatred, because it might give them some sort of label they’ve been trained to despise.

That’s awesome. I like that it actually benefits the employees and is reasonably cost effective, while also being marketable as an efficiency tool. Plus, the design is way cool.

Yeah I’m really confused why people keep saying it’s the same thing. It’s not, aside from being over-the-air at some point in the transmission.
- Comment on Yes, in the 1980s we downloaded games from the radio 2 months ago:
Except for the non-broadcast transmission, modulation, data rates, error correction, frequencies used, protocols, antennas, infrastructure, etc…
Like it’s not the same except for being “over the air”.
Boomers these days 🤦🏻♀️
