Then use the provided scanning handset! Both are provided, just depends what you prefer.
- Comment on Am I getting this right? The vibe of different lemmy instances 1 week ago:
Blahaj.zone doesn’t hate ‘lefties’? It doesn’t tolerate tankies but is very much on the lib-left side of things for the most part.
.ml has a bit of nuance not mentions. Before the reddit exodus it was pretty much the only active instance and during the exodus it was still one of, if not the largest, before .world appeared. So a lot of communities and people registered to .ml, many have migrated away but plenty are still there that are ‘general’ users with no ideological alignment. It is also the instance made and run by the main lemmy devs.
And piefed really shouldn’t be considered a new walled area, it interacts with the established lemmy instances its just different software from different devs. Same to be said of kbin/mbin which seems to be far less prevalent than it was.

This is why self scan is my favourite. Just scan stuff on your phone as you walk around, pack your bags ahead of time and the only time the staff need to get involved is age checking alcohol or painkillers, if there is some problem you had scanning something or if you get a random rescan request (which is admittedly horrible as it makes you feel like a criminal when they find the one item that didnt scan right). So much easier and faster than any of the other methods.
- Comment on Birds are a class of dinosaurs, biologically speaking. That means, Dino nuggets are legitimately made from dinosaur meat. 2 weeks ago:
I agree if we were talking about the stuff in a more serious manner but in this case it fits perfectly as a shower thought because its clear that we are talking about ‘technically’. Birds are inarguably dinosaurs via phylogeny hence it is funny that dino nuggets are dinosaurs in two ways.

I can’t work out if you disagree that birds are dinosaurs or if you think a showerthought needs to have a deeper point to it. Or both.

Its more often rhinoviruses rather than coronaviruses or other families

We still use it in our stuff, I guess its easier for the corporate world to hire DBAs with official qualifications and have the option of oracle support when something goes tits up.

Depends on the phone. I hated the one on my oneplus 3 but the one on my current phone has the basic customisation options i was using nova for.

Wouldn’t most of those who wish not to fund .ml just want to put their money into piefed or other lemmy compatible alternatives?

I’ve tried moving to signal but at most I have about 3 friends that use it with me, it simply not possible to dump it completely and remain in contact with all my friends and family members.

- Comment on Why is the progress pride flag so poorly designed (especially the intersex progress pride flag)? Will it be redesigned? 4 months ago:
Some think they can curry favour by thowing the bigots a bone. The ‘LGB drop the T’ group can fly under a radar for a bit by piling in on the most hated upon group but don’t seem to realise that they will be squarely back in their sights once the job is done…

Parafilm representation! I love that stuff. I totally, absolutely didn’t used to completely mummify samples we sent away to the miserable dicks at our sister lab…
- Comment on What ongoing projects are you working on? 6 months ago:
I don’t really have an ongoing single project but I do have an ongoing “project” to learn leathercrafting, hopefully one day to be able to have a little sidehustle in making some relatively niche and bespoke things. I’ve been taking things slow for once rather than rushing headlong into it, not buying too much stuff and getting overwhelmed, practicing things over and over and I’m really loving it.
I’ve been posting my journey so far in the Leather Craft community with pictures and stories of all the stuff I’ve made so far.
