That’s part of the problem, I can’t even begin to figure out who or what to follow. I’m not kidding about the part where I browsed the random feed; there was random K-pop stuff, ultra-local politics with no context, posts about random low-key mobile games, stream of thought… I’m literally at a complete loss about where to narrow my focus with that platform, it might as well be a hacked feed of every single cell phone DM/individual group chat messages (minus the smut). I can’t even figure out why I should give a fuck about it existing TBH, what am I supposed to do with this thing?

I hear you, but this is a problem that I’ve solved by browsing the splash as Posts/All/New. It helps to catch rando posts that I wouldn’t normally stumble across.

I feel as though I’m still missing something about Mastadon that others have absorbed and moved past. There was remarkably little content there, aside from the spam shotgunned into my feed by the few brand/city official accounts that I subbed to… What’s the appeal? I set it to display the rando posts, but it appeared to be literally that, random shitposting the way that people scream into the void of Twitter or Bluesky…

Bingo, @Madbrad200@sh.itjust.works , see the wikipedia entries which climb as high as 116: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moscovium
If you want to go on a fun rabbithole dive, take a gander at what Bob Lazar has to say about Moscovium (115), and its use in craft by nonhuman entities.

Love it when shitposting reaches out into the real world like some kind of digital tribute to The Creation of Adam (1508–1512).

But was your character’s equipment fireproof, and how much did it cost to replace every single mundane item that burst into flames and fell away like the cladding falling away from a house engulfed in flames?
- Comment on YSK Employers do NOT verify your total work history unless you're applying for a government position. 2 weeks ago:
Can confirm. Worked nearly a dozen years for the same company straight out of high school, and have not had a single employer since verify my work history or references. This is to say, that my first employer with whom I had a good rapport and good reviews, has not received a single phone call or e-mail in this regard. I still talk with & see them on a semi-regular basis, and asked them - not one, not one single effort has been made to contact them and verify the contents of my resume concerning my time spent in their employ.

Best part of skeletons? They don’t get a share of party loot when the encounter is over, they just go back to dirtnap.

Goddamn it man, not the user account password, the fucking admin account password. Did you even read the article? Every single user account’s information was compromised, not one randoms jerk with 123456 for their password.

Speak for yourself, I’m holding out hope that the universe is actually a little fair, and that the dolt responsible to creating that password, and subsequently fucking over millions of people has their testicles ruptured. Who are these idiots?

“Spaceballs: the HR Robot”
Seriously though, who the fuck uses 123456 as the password for anything? The morons pulling shit like this are making bank while the people brought onboard by McDonalds make scratch by comparison, and would be crucified for fucking up even a fraction as much as this. Millions, with six zeroes, millions of applicants’ data stolen from an account with the kind of password that a kid would use on their home computer. Fuck, this makes me so mad, the sheer incompetence.
- Comment on Why Americans Can’t Buy the World’s Best Electric Car 3 weeks ago:
Not an American, but it’s worth saying that despite their labour market’s galling shortfalls, they don’t have a culture of 12 hour days for 6 days per week. Many work much less, and those who do pull those kinds of hours are typically tradesmen/women who make pretty good bank. Those types of jobs are being systematically eliminated by corporations, but I digress.
- Comment on Why Americans Can’t Buy the World’s Best Electric Car 3 weeks ago:
It won’t be them living the reality though, it will be their subordinates and employees. The same ones already being crushed to death by production metrics, stagnation of wages and inflation. The people involved in these decision making processes are too well shielded from the actual consequences, beyond maybe driving past and seeing the ruins of what used to be towns/cities/neighbourhoods destroyed by the free market and social policies.

Serious question, are the wasps as likely to get diarrhea eating that as I think they are, and will the hive reject them at the entrance if they’re doing the insect equivalent of shitting their pants the way hives do with drunks?

I’m not on the inside track on this, but it may be for biometric cataloguing of persons denied entry, or even something so simple as testing for drugs, but couldn’t say 100% what U.S. immigration agents have been legally entitled entitled to since 9/11.
