I guess I’m glad there won’t be a long wait between seasons, but I can’t shake the feeling season 2 felt like complete filler.

Anyone wanna start a betting pool on the number of rounds of voting it’ll take for them to elect a new speaker? I’m feeling good about 12 rounds.
- Comment on Crunchyroll is Officially Ending Its Free Ad-Supported Streaming Service on December 31, 2025 2 weeks ago:
Correct.
The new Crunchyroll subs are not good. I think my favorite example of terrible translations so far was the latest season of Dr. Stone changing the main character’s catchphrase “this is exhilarating” to “this is tempting.”
The multi-million dollar corporation just doesn’t care.
- Comment on As Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids gears up for release next week, its devs , sort of, delay its 1.0 release date 2 weeks ago:
At the current rate of content, I’d bet they’ll hit 1.0 maybe end of 2027-early 2028, and it still probably won’t be worth playing over PoE1 for another few patches after current game director Jonathan’s rumored departure.
- Comment on CD Projekt plan to release The Witcher 4, 5, & 6 within six years of one another, and oh, are those pigs flying? 3 weeks ago:
I mean, yeah it’s 100% possible. Especially if they’re just gonna stick to UE and not care too much if there’s optimization issues.
The thing is, why? Why for any of this? Wouldn’t they make more money doing like two DLCs for each of them, giving them a bit more polish and post-launch touch ups, doing like a GOTY re-release, just really milk each game like they did Witcher 3? What’s the rush for? Are they trying to speedrun to beat the end of Western civilization?
- Comment on Girlfriend 5 weeks ago:
didn’t a lot of women end up leaving tinder because it’s gained reputation as exclusively a hook-up app, leaving mostly bots? Is this meme just a v old repost? I believe Hinge is the app de jour, but I might be out of date.
- Comment on People are playing fewer games and new releases are "struggling", say Ubisoft UK, warning of falling revenues 5 weeks ago:
okay, but that’s not really what this story is about. it’s about an industry that is seeing the opening salvo of an impending economic collapse.
- Comment on People are playing fewer games and new releases are "struggling", say Ubisoft UK, warning of falling revenues 5 weeks ago:
I dunno why so many people are dunkin on Ubisoft here. Sure, they make shit, but they’re commenting on an industry wide issue.
and it’s not just their industry. People are also going out to the movies less. Restaurant profits are down as people are staying in more often. I haven’t checked, but I imagine bars are likely struggling right now as well. It’s almost like Western economies are reaching a breaking point, and people are unable to afford anything beyond the bare necessities.

Y’know, when I first watched episode 1, I really didn’t expect this show to be about puberty.
- Comment on One Piece Chapter 1165 1 month ago:
kinda hate how rushed the ending of God Valley has been We had about three chapters worth of the Kuja nonsense that went nowhere, and then all of God Valley is like six chapters total.
- Comment on [Discussion] Which anime has the most mysterious atmosphere? 1 month ago:
Ergo Proxy is so mysterious that I’ve seen it twice and am still not sure what the fuck actually happens
- Comment on Some People Can’t See Mental Images. The Consequences Are Profound 1 month ago:
Had a partner who was like this. I was consistently baffled by so many things he had issues with. Any time we were discussing something like directions or driving or even just moving like a couch, he would be so confused when I would say “I just picture it in my head.”
- Comment on [Discussion] What is your most 'comfy' anime? 1 month ago:
It’s not a comfy anime, but I’ve watched the first season of Psycho-Pass about three dozen times, and it’s become so familiar to me that I find it comfy.
- Comment on Crunchyroll is destroying its subtitles for no good reason 1 month ago:
The thing is, fansubs had a whole host of problems and weird translation shit too. Our standards have just dropped because a multimillion dollar corporation with a near monopoly of the industry can’t be bothered to hire people.
- Comment on China bans influencers from speaking on ‘serious’ topics like finance or health without university degree 1 month ago:
honestly, incredibly based.
People with platforms shouldn’t be allowed to spread blatant misinformation. That shit is incredibly harmful to uneducated people.

??? It’s named Drum Kingdom?
- Comment on One Piece anime TV series will release a maximum of 26 episodes per year 2026 onwards 1 month ago:
And the pacing will still be ass
- Comment on Relatable. 1 month ago:
Damn, even this isn’t quite what I was looking for.
I know the reason is to save costs, but holy fucking shit the anime just loves repeating scenes huh? I think the most egregious is the flashbacks to stuff already shown in the same episode, it’s like there’s only 8 minutes of actual content in a 22 minute episode. Part of the strength of One Pace is that a lot of those repeated scenes are completely cut out, which condenses a couple of episodes into one.
- Comment on Relatable. 1 month ago:
I still enjoyed it, but maybe a quarter of the way through you can really start to tell that it was based on a visual novel dating kinda game and a lot of that stuff turned me off.
I also hate that it gets recommended as a great time travel anime. It’s a terrible time travel anime, it doesn’t even count as time travel. It’s a monkeys paw anime!
- Comment on Relatable. 1 month ago:
Very early on, they’ll be in season 2 of the Netflix live action remake. Episode 81 of the anime.
I typically tell people to watch through Arlong Park. If you aren’t interested in it by that arc, it’s just not for you.
- Comment on Relatable. 1 month ago:
I’ll contend that pre-TS legitimately can stand with the absolute best of the genre, but recommending OP to people feels like a trap. It’s like “hey here’s 500 episodes of peak to get you hooked, now you get to watch 500+ episodes of mid because you just wanna know how it ends.”
- Comment on Relatable. 1 month ago:
I honestly wish Japan would split their genres a lil more. Shonen feels like such a default “anime” genre, and yeah most of it is just generic drivel. Then something actually wild and interesting comes along like DanDaDan or Gachiakata or SANDA, but you basically have to find them through word of mouth or knowing the animation studios.
- Comment on Relatable. 1 month ago:
Could I get a lil more info as to where to find this? I’ve long held the opinion that I would actually enjoy Naruto if there was a recut of it similar to One Pace. The big thing that causes me to bounce off it is the anime’s love of flashbacks.
- Comment on [Episode] SANDA - Episode 3 discussion 2 months ago:
Damn I can’t believe Sanji from One Piece just showed up like that.
- Comment on ‘I love Hitler’: Leaked messages expose Young Republicans’ racist chat 2 months ago:
Now watch as absolutely fucking nothing is done about these clearly heinous messages, whereas they’re putting in people in jail for memes about Kirk’s death. Civility only exists in one direction for these assholes.
- Comment on Happy 20th anniversary to the Corrupted Blood incident! 2 months ago:
No, not at all like COVID. Don’t confuse ignorance for malice. The issue with COVID was skeptics who only consumed right-wing propoganda downplaying the severity of the virus. There were no skeptics in the Corrupted Blood incident, people were maliciously trying to spread the virus knowing that it would kill other people.
- Comment on Happy 20th anniversary to the Corrupted Blood incident! 2 months ago:
everyone always overexaggerates how useful the incident was to epidemiologists. It was certainly an interesting novelty, and some cool studies were produced, but the issue was that there weren’t actually consequences for bad actors. It’s a lot harder for assholes to willingly catch a disease with the goal of spreading it when that disease can actually kill them.
I’m more miffed that they never figured out a way to rerun the event for WoW Classic, if even for only 24 hours.
- Comment on “Gachiakuta” New Character Visual 2 months ago:
Trash Storm arc starting next episode 👀
I wonder if that’ll take us to the end of the season then, or if we’ll get a little bit more Canvas Town before it ends
- Comment on 'No one can find him': Trump drops from public view again after 'slurring' military speech 2 months ago:
The problem is that even in this wonderful fantasy, Vance assumes the presidency for the remainder of the term. I agree that without Trump, there’s no way the GOP wins the next election since they’ll likely collapse to infighting over the power vacuum, but none of that matters if there are no more elections. and realistically, if Vance is put in power, that will be his first and highest priority.
