Furi Labs runs a fully optimized system called Furi OS
If I were to switch to a Linux phone I’d want it to be made for an open and trusted OS, not the (unknown to me at least) manufacturers own.

Afaik Synology supports Btrfs which I honestly prefer at this point if you don’t need filesystem based encryption or professionall scaling and caching features.

Thats what all my other services use though and I don’t know how I’d connect them to traefic.
- Comment on How do I manage docker&Traefik behind a reverse proxy not on docker. 1 month ago:
Because I don’t know how docker works, the .yaml given by nightscout is using traefik and I don’t know how to remove it without breakting the nightscout container.
- Comment on How do I manage docker&Traefik behind a reverse proxy not on docker. 1 month ago:
My Nginx is running in the same local network but on a different IP so there should not be acollision with the traefik ports.

How do I connect to the container without traefik (from my local network)?
When I remove all the traefic references and then run docker ps I get
CONTAINER ID IMAGE COMMAND CREATED STATUS PORTS NAMES [removed] nightscout/cgm-remote-monitor:latest "docker-entrypoint.s…" 6 seconds ago Up 5 seconds 1337/tcp nightscout [removed] mongo:4.4 "docker-entrypoint.s…" 37 hours ago Up 5 seconds 27017/tcp docker-mongo-1
But I can’t reach it under dockerIP:1337.
With Immich it had 0.0.0.0:port as its IP and I was able to reach it that way.

I would think most standard consumers are not using HDDs at all.

I have 2*12TB whitelabel WD drives (harvested from external drives but Datacenter drives accourding to the SN) and one 16 TB Toshiba white-label (purchased directly also meant for datacenters) in a raidz1.
How full is your pool? I have about 2/3rds full which impacts scrubbing I think. I also frequently access the pool which delays scrubbing.

I am not questioning the need for more storage but the need dor more storage without increased speeds.
- Comment on Say Hello to the World's Largest Hard Drive, a Massive 36TB Seagate 1 month ago:
And I’ve only ever had WD hard drives and sandisk flash drives die on me
Maybe it’s confirmation bias but almost all memory that failed on me has been sandisk-flash storage. Zhe only exception being a corsair ssd which failed after 3 yrs as the main laptop drive + another 3 as a server boot and log-drive.

What is the usecase for drives that large?
I ‘only’ have 12Tb drives and yet my zfs-pool already needs ~two weeks to scrub it all. With something like this it would literally not be done before the next scheduled scrub.

The source takes the percentages by biomass, not by count as it seems. So small varmints will not have as much of an impact as a human or cow would.
- Comment on “Donated” plasma today 2 months ago:
Idk how it works in the us but in Germany you can always anonomously order them to destroy your sample afterwards (you get a little number which is accociated to your sample but not your person). So If you’re reallx desperate you could just lie about that, give the blood/plasma, take the money and have it destroyed afterwards.

How did you get your drive temps into home assistant?
- Comment on I think my server might nit be a fan of the upcoming heatwave 2 months ago:
Ouch, I will defenelty check on the system temps once I get home. Although I can’t really shut the whole thing off, maybe I can at least spin down the drive pool and kill all containers relying on that.
- Comment on I think my server might nit be a fan of the upcoming heatwave 2 months ago:
I hobestly don’t know how much of this temperature is the server and how much is just it beeing in a badly ventilated spot under the ceiling.
- Comment on I think my server might nit be a fan of the upcoming heatwave 2 months ago:
This is less about the increase during the last 24 hours and more about the currend temp+expected increase.

Compared to (my impression of) north America I think there are some contributing factors:
- Less sprawl: Bakeries are usually in a town/neighborhood (which has more nature compared to the US, therefore also more insects) and not surrounded by a huge parking lot where no wasps would live. There are also many neigbouhring properties with different owners/occupants. So their nest might nor be on your property or even somewhere where you’d be able to locate it.
- (more) indipendent shops: I see waaaay less wasps in the baked good section in supermarkets here as well. Bakeries are usually not huge so it is just a short distance for the wasps to fly in a confinded space. Bakeries are also not usually airconditioned which would probably irritate wasps.
- conservation laws: Wasps are considerd a protected species in Germany and catching, harming or killing them without a proper reason can carry a fine of up to 5-65k€ depending on the kind of wasp and the state. In general wasp nests can only be moved by professional and licenced exterminators (and they only do it when necessary, like the nest being near a kindergarten or in an occupied builduing).
