- Comment on Uses for a SBC (When You Already Have an x86 Mini-PC?) 1 week ago:
The LattePanda Mu is configurable and can operate on as little as 6W. It has an Intel Processor N100. Which is surprisingly powerful and efficient given that the Processor N series is the new branding for what used to be called Celeron.
- Comment on Uses for a SBC (When You Already Have an x86 Mini-PC?) 1 week ago:
Lower power draw is about it. But there are now x86 SBCs that can also run on as little as 6W so there’s no reason to compromise and use ARM’s non-standard fragmented BS.

No. They would be morons and vote against socialism even if it’s good for them.

Has Microsoft never heard of testing and QA?
- Comment on What do you like/dislike about lemmy? 4 weeks ago:
Like: It’s not Reddit.
Dislike: The userbase is too small and there are way too many circlejerks in some communities and you get bashed to hell if you dare to disagree with them.
- Comment on Intel CEO Lost A 40% Discount For TSMC's Latest Chip Tech After Taiwan Remarks - Report 4 weeks ago:
TSMC’s best decision was to never compete with its suppliers or with its clients. Intel unfortunately competes with both and now it has come to back to bite it.

It’s more like going to a hotel, complaining that there are too many prostitutes, and then finding out it’s a brothel.
- Comment on Do PhDs HAVE to use Dr? 5 weeks ago:
Meanwhile in certain countries people with an M.B.B.S. and no doctorate get use the title of “doctor” as a matter of convention.
Funny how physicians have basically co-opted the title even when they technically do not possess the degree it refers to. And even funnier is that that word doctor means teacher in Latin so it would make much more sense that those with Ph.D.s, who are qualified to teach at the highest levels, should get to use the title over physicians most of whom do not teach anything at all unless they are medical school professors.

So? I’d rather have my software talk to a server than be downright wrong just so another business can climb onto the AI bandwagon.

Go look up what Samsung started out selling. They make a ton of military shit too just mostly for their own country.

Advanced how? It doesn’t offer the most advanced process node fabricated in the USA that’s for sure.

Lol that was never a serious option. Regulators would never allow it. But it was Qualcomm trying to flex for wall street to see.

GlobalFoundries is American in name only. It’s owned by the Saudis.
- Comment on Intel & Samsung Are Reportedly Inking A "Foundry Alliance", Sharing Production Facilities Along With Process Tech 5 weeks ago:
Korea and Taiwan are already ahead of the US in semiconductor fabrication so IDK what you’re talking about. The US also isn’t competitive on cost of production either. The only reason for anyone to build a fab here is for geopolitical reasons and because the government is giving away billions in tax dollars to subsidize it.
- Comment on Intel & Samsung Are Reportedly Inking A "Foundry Alliance", Sharing Production Facilities Along With Process Tech 5 weeks ago:
This is just both of them trying to cope with falling behind TSMC permanently.
- Comment on Baidu CEO warns AI is just an inevitable bubble — 99% of AI companies are at risk of failing when the bubble bursts 5 weeks ago:
The rot has even spread into hardware. No one wants die space wasted on a stupid NPU with with less than 1/1000 of the computing power their GPU has and can’t be used for anything other than local LLMs which FTI very few people use and those that do tend to have powerful Nvidia GPUs.

AMD won because it has x86 CPUs and GPUs.
