This is incorrect. The Apollo program led to massive development of computer technology because it would not be possible without it. They created the first real time computers and were the world’s largest buyer of integrated circuits at the time. Digital clocks are just objectively better. They are easier to read, cheaper, and more accurate. While the reason for swapping out the clocks is bad, the end result is still good.
