Is not a bad feature, I find it interesting. The thing is that I doubt normal users would take care not puting sensitive information on it, that can profile them. Clearly there should be more campaigns on schools and even for citizens about being conscious of the information they share. That would absolutely change a lot of the shit we are living nowadays .
- Comment on Using Tailscale As A Traditional VPN 4 weeks ago:
Tailacale sucks as tradicional vnp, the derp are a mess and they have a lot of latency. Even achieving a point to point connection, the back end makes the performance horrible. I heard headache is far better, but never tried it, it’s a little messy with certs.
- Comment on How to secure Jellyfin hosted over the internet? 1 month ago:
My setup is: Proxmox - restricted LXC running docker which runs jellyfin, tailscale funnel as reverse proxy and certificate provider. So so don’t care about jellyfin security, it can get hacked / broken , its an end road. If so i will delete the LXC and bring it up again using backups. Also i dont think someone will risk or use time to hack a jellyfin server. My strategy is, with webservices that don’t have critical personal data, i have them isolated in instances. I don’t rely on security on anything besides the firewall. And i try not to have services with personal sensitive data, and if i do, on my local lan with the needed protections. If i need access to it outside my local lan, vpn.

- Comment on Studio Ghibli Distributor Champions ‘Princess Mononoke’ Box Office at ‘A Time When Technology Tries to Replicate Humanity’ 1 month ago:
But technology is made by humans… That’s what non technical people forget. They think is made itself. So we have been trying to emulate reality since the begining of modern humanity. It’s a fixation we have. There should be studies. Even making cartoons is a way of emulation. Reading a story in a book is a emulation . And we don’t stop, even making the emulation (AI) make emulations . Is like we don’t want to live life by ourselves. It has to be trough external things. We can’t stand the emptiness. Even more weak gets societies then more we need these things. Of not, look at the social media.

Promox runs on debian. But anyway you will be surprised about proxmox can run in limited hardware. I have it running in a garbage mini PC and an old notebook :D

I didn’t know, Thanks for the info . Well nowadays f-droid is a standard for privacy . They should reconsider

Yes that’s correct, is listed in guardian project but with big red flags anti-featires, heavy thetered services with Google

Why Signal is not in f-droid? Is there a statement from them about it? What I know is only in Google store . And talking to much about privacy and not being in a f-droid repo, is ironic

- Comment on Kagi Introducing Fair Pricing 3 months ago:
I started using it on instances, like other WebApps example invidious, but instances get constantly banned and sometimes you can’t use them or rely on them. So yes I selfhosted it. You don’t need any special hardware. Docker is very simple to use . I even went further and used an old laptop as server with Linux , installed tailscale everywhere and using funnel (or server if you don’t want to expose to internet) got my own domain , with certs, with reverse proxy in one shot. It’s a f miracle . Tailscale has full documentation and step by steps guides. I just followed those. If you want to make it even simpler, install proxmox and use containers . They are like tiny Linuxes with their own Mac, IP , etc

SearXNG ftw ! Also , who the heck stop using an entire month a search engine. Maybe in very isolated cases like vacations, or medic leaves, but come on…
