I started using it on instances, like other WebApps example invidious, but instances get constantly banned and sometimes you can’t use them or rely on them. So yes I selfhosted it. You don’t need any special hardware. Docker is very simple to use . I even went further and used an old laptop as server with Linux , installed tailscale everywhere and using funnel (or server if you don’t want to expose to internet) got my own domain , with certs, with reverse proxy in one shot. It’s a f miracle . Tailscale has full documentation and step by steps guides. I just followed those. If you want to make it even simpler, install proxmox and use containers . They are like tiny Linuxes with their own Mac, IP , etc

SearXNG ftw ! Also , who the heck stop using an entire month a search engine. Maybe in very isolated cases like vacations, or medic leaves, but come on…

Just use Firefox and its variants for more privacy. Done. Chromium is a dead road. Even with ungoogled chromium , brave , etc you have to trust the maintainers and their compiled version.

Linux Fundarion is based in America. It needs to follow its rules and politics. I guess a lot of things will happen after this. As something so important for open technology like It , should be based in a more open, mor asvanced in laws and neutral territory.
- Comment on Running Tailscale docker image vs. binding port to Tailscale IP 4 months ago:
I was hable to include the taislcale image inside every composer of the web apps I’m using in Docket and have their own magic dns and ip. Even turn on funnel from inside the container and get endcription to the internet direct access. There is a guide tailscale.com/kb/1282/docker/

Is it possible to add it by invidious ?
- Comment on Youtube has fully blocked Invidious 5 months ago:
Good question why they didn’t already or if they did it already
- Comment on Youtube has fully blocked Invidious 5 months ago:
I would suggest the devs to be able to create instances from within tor. It would be slow, but impossible to block. Or from any other network that don’t rely on single IP access to YouTube . Or, make a mesh of collaborative home instances. Google can’t block millions of home IPs. Or use any mesh collaborative network capable of it.
