- Comment on OpenAI says Sky voice in ChatGPT will be paused after concerns it sounds too much like Scarlett Johansson 5 months ago:
While the Sky voice and a version of ChatGPT Voice have been around for some time, the comparison to Johansson became more obvious due to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and many others, drawing the similarity between the new AI model and the movie “Her”.
When your CEO inadvertently helps build a copyright suit against your product… Not a good look.
- Comment on Microsoft Word just fixed its default paste option 5 months ago:
As has become a bit of a trend lately, they put the useful information in the subtitle so it it won’t get picked up by link aggregators…
Now, Microsoft Word will use the ‘merge formatting’ option by default.
- Comment on Qualcomm and Intel can't sell chips to Huawei anymore, report claims 5 months ago:
Simple. The US government can do this (as opposed to your favored issues) for two reasons: 1) This is executive action by the Biden administration, not requiring Congress. 2) This is inherently uncontroversial. 81% of Americans have an unfavorable view of China. It is one of the few things Americans agree on with such strong bi-partisan support, thereby making China an easy punching-bag for campaign season.

…This article is about the US government doing exactly that. Did you read anything other than the headline?
The US government has allegedly revoked Qualcomm’s and Intel’s licenses to sell chips to Huawei

A lot of these are actually non-venomous, but I can see which species you mistook them for. If you pause the crane for a sec I can give you some ID pointers for next time!
- Comment on I just heard about Brazilian Butt Lifts which is a procedure where they take fat deposits from somewhere on your body and place it in your butt? 5 months ago:
The fat cells behave the same as before they were transferred. The number of fat cells mostly stays the same when you lose weight, just depsc1eassleting the fat reserves within the them. So yeah, you’d mostly re-gain it in the same cells.

From the peroxide-peroxide article:
Instead of being locked in a self-storage unit with two rabid wolverines, why not three? Instead of having two liters of pyridine poured down your trousers, why not three? And so on - it’s a liberating thought. It’s true that adding more oxygen-oxygen bonds to a compound will eventually liberate the tiles from your floor and your windows from their frames, but that comes with the territory.
I’m in tears from this stuff and I know fuckall about chemistry.

The website title isnt “25” it is “2 5”. Note the whitespace. To me, that implies the title got mangled somewhere along the line, removing the point.
