  Im sure youre right. My point is thats not even a niche topic. A quick Google estimates there are 21 million viewers PER GAME every week. There are literally hundreds of millions of fans of the nfl, but even a subject so popular can’t maintain a healthy community on lemmy, how are these niche topics supposed to stand a chance at survival?

  I look at the nfl community here. It really only gets a handful of posts on Sunday and that’s it. It blows my mind that there isn’t more engagement

  In your example tho, you want those numbers to stand out. The reason the affair was busy, was because of the numbers. You want the numbers to jump out, because that’s the important detail.

  Idk man, I have a federally compliant 1 way pager. So it’s not illegal. We score the highest marks on our DoD security audits every year. Theyre distrubuted from the security office, so I’m sure they do some sort of vetting on each individual one.

  We’re a govt contractor, but our civilian govt counterparts use them too

  People that work in classified environments. You can’t have smart devices (phones, watches, anything that communicates with the outside) while in these controlled spaces. pagers are acceptable because they’re 1 way communication, so there’s no risk of data leaks from the classified space

  I’m salaried, and collect OT. I have to log all my hours to specific contracts so we charge other groups appropriately, so we get 1.0x OT pay

  Might not impact you directly, but as other companies would adopt benefits of it, employees at your company would start to leave for companies that are adjusting their schedule. They’d either be forced to adjust, or risk hitting unsustainable attrition rates
