I’ve been involved in a number of cults, both as a leader and a follower. You have more fun as a follower, but you make more money as a leader.

Agreed! I love this new layout, but would need to figure out how to block that little bit.

Oh wow, I would love this! All the useful info is on the right where you can immediately see it instead of having to scroll down away from the video! Can we opt into this?

I have disney plus, but I also have a toddler and the toddler doesn’t like credits or 20-second countdowns between 7-minute episodes, so I also have Bluey on Plex. When my partner caught wind of that, they started asking for all their other favorite shows to be on plex, too. Sometimes 3ven if I know where a show is and pay for the service, they still make it too annoying to use.

Why do you say “Don’t do it.” And then say a bunch of things that agree it would be good? This proposal is advocating for making daylight saving time permanent.

This is Hiroi Kikuri, a character from the manga Bocchi The Rock. It’s a story about rock bands. It’s extremely common for rock stars with mental health struggles to develop crippling drug addictions that end up killing them, and receive no help from the people around them who brush off their struggles because of their musical talent, and Hiroi illustrates that. Drinking and smoking are bad, sure, but it’s a realistic portrayal of a common real-life theme.

Ooh, that’s a good suggestion to try, too! My specific problem with teams in the browser is the feedback cancelation bits. When I am unmuted, the people I’m chatting with heqr themselves echoed. Using the full teams app in a windows VM with my webcam piped to the windows VM works fine. I’ll try the AUR teams first, but if that doesn’t work I’ll look into waydroid, too. Thanks!
- Comment on Vegan products not always safe for people with dairy allergy, watchdog says 8 months ago:
This post isn’t talking about vegans. It is talking about people with allergies and food tolerance issues. Specifically, people with dairy allergies might think products labeled “vegan” would automatically be free of dairy contamination by definition, but that isn’t always the case. If they were vegan, they probably wouldn’t have to resort to junk food labeling to determine if a product is dairy free.

Nice! I’ll give it a try. I tried the web version through Firefox and it was unusable. I was able to join a meeting, but as soon as I turned on my mic, my opponents freaked out, saying their sounds were echoing back to them. Firefox + web teams was not doing any noise cancellation between speakers and mic.

Wait, what? I thought they killed Teams for Linux a few years back. I’ve been piping my Webcam to a Windows VM just so I can run Teams and Outlook.

Thank you for the compliment, but no. Absolutely no. I make plenty of money at my day job. I enjoy making sawdust and wood chips, and want to keep enjoying it.

Hah, that absolutely makes sense. They should block these country-specific things from main so they don’t show up for random weirdos! Cheers!

- Comment on WDYM your terminal isn't a test suite? 9 months ago:
Yes, my comment only applies to the shell history in memory. If you tend to close your terminal windows frequently and rely on the history feature between sessions, it would benefit you to learn about the intricacies of the on-disk copy of history and how its affected by writes, appends, clears, crashes, etc. I tend to leave my terminal windows open a long time and copy any complex commands out to my PKM if I need to save them for future sessions, so I generally try not to rely on .bash_history, but it has saved my bacon on more than one occasion.

- Comment on WDYM your terminal isn't a test suite? 10 months ago:
history displays a list of all commands you have run on the terminal since the history list was last cleared. It is invaluable for referring back to a big complex command or set of commands you ran at some point in the past. The -c flag clears that history.
