i’ll look into this, but they seem to have used the old strategy of announcing something absurd then back down to what they wanted because of “community pressure”

- Comment on Astronomers discover long-period radio transient of unknown origin 1 week ago:
Although the observations and analysis of archival data have not detected any optical or infrared counterpart to ASKAP J1424, the comparison with other LPTs suggests that it may be a white dwarf (WD) binary system.
The astronomers explain that in such a system, the pulse activity is driven by magnetic interaction when the WD magnetic axis intersects the companion’s magnetized wind, and recurs at the beat between WD rotation and orbital periods.

i’m actually still learning about north korea. yes, not unlike cuba, they suffer from the blockade and lack of sufficient land. they used to very heavily rely on the ussr for food, and when it died, their food distribution collapsed for a few years.
i can’t tell you in good faith about their modern internal policy, or the veracity of modern hunger claims because i don’t know enough about it yet.

south korean’s army is very influenced by the us, through the combined forces. this stalemate has a big element of us imperialism, not that unlike what they briefly did to vietnam.
