I’ve bought Garmin devices explicitly because they didn’t do these things, and promised not to do these things. Since I know they’re not going to retract this decision, I am going to look into trying to get my purchases refunded.

They’re AI so yes
- Comment on HP adds 15 minutes waiting time for telephone support calls 1 month ago:
Just another thing to remind family of when they inevitably ask why they shouldn’t just buy the cheapest printer/laptop/widget from HP.
“We are experiencing longer wait times” Yeah, because you intentionally made it that way to game your internal metrics.
I can’t wait for them to finally burn enough users that they finally get a clue and stop buying HP garbage, and the company can finally die from its decisions.

Constant CEO turnover? Bringing in a AWS/Oracle Executive? RIP Docker.

Americans aren’t actually that litigious. This perception was created as part of a public misinformation campaign by McDonalds to try to win sympathy when they made their coffee way hotter than it should have ever been, and were sued when a customer had their labia fused together when the coffee spilled in their lap.

You would think all the data they steal from you when you install the app would be payment enough
- Comment on Jeep Introduces Pop-Up Ads That Appear Every Time You Stop 1 month ago:
Jeep is a Stellantis product. Literally the worst quality auto manufacturer in North America. They are circling the drain and jacking up the prices on their vehicles and making Pikachu faces when they don’t sell. Their only customers are people who don’t know how to research their purchases, and putting advertisement hell into their cars is another example of that. I suspect they will not be in business a decade from now.

- Comment on Why is it considered sexist to ask women to smile? 2 months ago:
This was posted 4 times, you may want to remove the duplicates.
I would agree that people look better when they smile, but I think that it is considered sexist because women are asked to smile where men are not, in similar situations. I believe that women feel it is controlling, and since it’s requested/required of women more often then men, their perspective is that it is sexist.
Would you feel okay with a woman asking you to flex? I would, but if it became something that happened on a regular basis, I think it would quickly become annoying to me.
- Comment on McDonald’s posts biggest decline in global sales in four years 5 months ago:
If you skimp on ingredients while raising prices, and then try to lock any sort of reasonable deal behind a creepy data collection app, customers are likely to notice and choose a better option. Sucks to suck.
- Comment on Dell Sales team told to return to office 5 days a week 5 months ago:
Sure, everyone that has a job that can be done from home should be permitted to do it from home if they want to.
What the best performers rhetoric is about is that these companies are harming their long term prospects by doing things like this, since the personnel that make the most money for the company are generally the ones that can easily leave for another company that will not treat them like a child that needs to be directly monitored.
- Comment on Dell Sales team told to return to office 5 days a week 5 months ago:
So Dell wants to do a layoff of sales staff, and is going to lose their best performers first.
