And even the study can easily be proven wrong. A finite amount of monkeys already produced Shakespeare in a finite amount of time; it took roughly 25 million years.
- Comment on Is it offensive for me as a man to dress as a male version of a female fictional character for Halloween?' 2 weeks ago:
Not sure honestly. It may have been the year before. Or even earlier. Or maybe I’m just slow at noticing popular media trends. As you can see, I’m doing great at growing old.

With all the Bowsettes last year, I’m tempted to say no in the name of equality.

- Comment on Colin Anderson Calls GTA 2 the ‘Unsung Hero’ of the Franchise | Retro Gaming News 24/7 2 weeks ago:
Agreed. While 3, VC, and SA were awesome, the shift in style made them so different they’re not really comparable.
GTA2 stuck to the top-down view that made the original game so much fun. And the faction system was pretty cool.
I really enjoyed VC and SA, but I found it a bit jarring that the character now had lines. I always preferred that he was a “shut up and do what you’re told” kind of guy.
GTA4 was fine.
GTA5 was a really nice tech demo that lacked depth in the gameplay. Great writing, though.

Interesting tidbit: from left to right, these are ordered by the efficiency of the oxygen transportation.
- Comment on What is the argument for making poor/working class folks shoulder the burden of taxes? 2 weeks ago:
20 years ago, the right wing propaganda machine was focused on (before they went full out fascist) low taxes for the “job creators” such as corporations and rich people, on the basis of that leading to more lucrative job opportunities for everyone else. The thinking was that the people and corporations in this low-tax environment would have incentives for creating jobs “here” instead of moving them overseas.
- Comment on Why don't we just gather up all the ocean's trash and all the nonrecyclables, put them in a rocket, and launch it into the sun? 2 weeks ago:
Because incineration or proper disposal is not the problem. Gathering and segregation is. Plus, launching that sort of payload is going to be insanely costly.
The sheer volume is manageable as it currentlyis, but it’s spread out so much that collecting it properly is going to take a lot of time an effort.
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a bit of a misnomer, as it’s more of a vague area in which trash tends to collect. It’s not like an actual continuous patch that you can easily attack with a net.

Only if your definition of “brave” is the same as the one Apple used when they removed the audio jack.

- Comment on Which adjective should come first, modular or versatile? 3 weeks ago:
Neither. By “we” I mean my colleagues and I at work. It’s a proprietary thing we use. Too easily googleable and doxxable, as it’s a highly niche system.

- Comment on Which adjective should come first, modular or versatile? 3 weeks ago:
Heh, that made me realize that the trademark of the system we’re currently using, which is abbreviated into four letters, should have the first three in the opposite order.
- Comment on Which adjective should come first, modular or versatile? 3 weeks ago:
There’s a lot of context that I cannot share without making it a two week course in what I do for a living, but to put it simply, both versatility and modularity are descriptors that make sense together for the intended audience, as the system can be one without the other.
- Comment on Which adjective should come first, modular or versatile? 3 weeks ago:
I tend to agree with you. Plus, with this particular thing, it’s possible to build to to be versatile and not modular, or the other way around. Or neither (which we’re using now)

Most likely not. Cisco certs and their exams are administered by Cisco and not by normal educational institutions.
However, some educational institutions might be able to run the exam. If you feel you know the material well enough, you can contact any of the certification places and have an exam. However, there’s an exam fee.
More info about registering and finding a location here: www.cisco.com/site/us/en/…/registration.html

No. There are certification exams. At least the CCNA/CCNP/CCIE certicates require them.

Yes. I’ve always had a bit of a slouch. Looking like a bum is one thing, but when my back started aching as I turned 40, I figured something had to change.
Now, when I walk down the street, I pretend my nipples are laser guns, and I pretend to shoot people in the head. It’s surprisingly effective.
