I mean we will never know but 5billion is a lot no one else is going to throw this much to VR. Gaben will buy another Yacht before valve spends this much. Apple will never care about gaming. Microsoft and google both develop as though they can’t focus on any project.
Sony has a nice headset, but it’s more of a whatever than a serious evolution of the industry.
Itch.io hosts some amazing game jams, and maybe we will see Godot and Unreal take up some slack but not five billion dollars worth.

I know people don’t like Zuck and meta in general. But flooding VR with money was a good thing for the medium. Lots of small teams and independents who otherwise couldn’t have developed for VR got to.

Lemmy lately has been on an outrage fest it’s getting kind of exhausting. Topics in just about everything I follow are almost all outrage with out critical thinking.

Just saw a copy for 100 dollars at a GameStop in the Portland area yesterday. Crazy how expensive this game is now.

For double smite ima eat gyrodos sushi off of a Pokémon trainer’s naked body in an underground club.

So Gyro taste like sushi?

Gyrados is the Drake of dragons.
- Comment on Best starter hands-down 2 weeks ago:
Oof. No wings or limbs, evolved from magikarp. I think you need to reassess cool dragons.
They are a cool fish monster tho.

Haha. My story is similar I wasn’t super early to Pokémon but I had a deep love of early final fantasy games so I jumped right to it on gameboy. I was the perfect age.
I don’t remember who my original starter was. It could have very likely been Charmander, I know bulbs is the one that I’ve used on every subsequent play through of gen 1

I had the wall power adapters as a kid so battery life rarely kept me down. But yeah you’re right.

I’d recommend the dlc. It’s fun to see the characters again. I got lucky and on my first time through the game the second dlc released so I was able to play them both kinda in my run.
- Comment on Most under-utilized consoles? 3 weeks ago:
Honestly everything sega.
The master system had a built in maze game which was incredible to me as a kid. The Genesis/Mega Drive was fantastic but its add ons sega Cd and 32x were barely utilized. Saturn and Dreamcast both abandoned far too quickly.
I recently played my first Saturn game and honestly had my mind blown knowing what the competition was doing at the time.
Gamegear was dope too when you compared it to its contemporary.

So hot take here, while the side quest activities are filler the lore they add is great. There are some very touching moments at the end of side quest chains. Especially Torgals chain. Made the side quests worth it in my mind.
I also ended up getting the dlc for the game which I seldom ever do I just enjoyed it so much and wanted more. While the rpg elements are light. I really enjoyed rocking the different powers in combat and felt very flexible on my builds.

Thanks. I can def do that on my phone. Don’t know much about how to do it on Apple TVs or Rokus but I very seldom use them for YouTube anymore anyway.

Any suggestions where to go? I mostly watch warhammer painting content such as tutorials for techniques I don’t know and video game content either long form retrospectives to fall asleep or guides for what I am playing. I’ve tried to get off YouTube completely but these specific niches are all that’s left for me.
- Comment on Nintendo Switch 2 hands-on reveals a proper generational upgrade, though its biggest new idea remains unproven 3 weeks ago:
Idk about your opinion on a touch screen. For both my switch and my steam deck, over 99% of their usage has been docked. A touch screen doesn’t do anything for gamers like me. I do use a keyboard and mouse very often with my deck too.
That said the joycon “mouse” looks way too small and uncomfortable.

I bought a single share when the ipo happened figuring it would be funny. Meant to sell when it was at 200 and forgot. Just checked. Still funny, sucks I missed out on $100 but I figure it’s going to keep going down. I’ll keep my one share. Reminds me to look.

- Comment on GM blocks dealership from installing Apple CarPlay retrofit kits in EVs 5 weeks ago:
Oh I agree so much. I’ve had 3 VW tiguans and they’ve progrssively gotten worse in quality. (Leases an 18 ,20, and now 24) each time the lease early buy back offer worked heavily in my favor and I am no longer in a position in life where I need to lease a vehicle so this 24 will be the last lease, but honestly my last VW as well.
On the topic of those dumb lights. The dealership I was at had a “price breakdown” for features and claimed those lights ‘only’ added 5 dollars a month to the monthly payment. I mean I know car dealerships will do everything for a penny but that just set me off.
- Comment on GM blocks dealership from installing Apple CarPlay retrofit kits in EVs 5 weeks ago:
It’s silly but I have no interest in buying or driving cars that don’t support CarPlay. I’m used to it. It is safer for me to drive with a gps/voice control system I am used to. When I’ve had to rent cars that don’t support it it has been awful.
I would feel the same if I was an android user with Android auto.
I do not think every car needs their own system when one’s based on the devices we already use exist. Pisses me off.
I also wish someone would make a base model style EV I don’t need all these stupid extra features. I recently test drove a VW EV and wasn’t amused with the RGB door lighting. What a waste of money. I just want a vehicle to get from A to B.

16 is absolutely fantastic. I haven’t read any reviews for it so I don’t know what they are saying but I had an absolute blast playing it. Had a smile on my face from beginning to end. Well, I enjoyed it atleast I found the ending very sad.
