don’t know, i do neither. but i think the time that users take for manual copying and adjusting from a quick web server’s response may level out the time an LLM takes.

yes, but it’s way more energy efficient to produce that garbage.

i’d also be careful with products that seem to have religious followers.
- Comment on Proxmox or Docker? 1 week ago:
i recently had a look at Proxmox and found it very underwhelming. it might be interesting of you want to set up and run a cluster of hosts conveniently. other than that it’s just a web ui, and given that this is a key component of the product in its ninth incarnation, it’s disappointing; cluttered, bloated with redundancy, unintuitive. its concept of deploying containers is a joke.

We need LLMs as much as we needed 3D movies or augmented reality.

i’m generally fine with stealing as practice in the daily class struggle. i mean the owning class has the legal right to do so. and in doubt they just exercise it, judges will later find it to be fair use. no need to justify, it’s description of societies’ order.

it is what it is: a very expensive toy.

yet you need these masses of input for the technology to exist. the business models that base on the technology aren’t sustainable even without payment of the input data.

- Comment on Ukraine: Zelenskyy offers to quit in return for NATO entry 6 months ago:
not obvious yet to me, but you’re correct. i remember an Ukrainian colleague was very upset at the beginning of the war that they have a clown as president.
- Comment on Ukraine: Zelenskyy offers to quit in return for NATO entry 6 months ago:
the red line that Russia saw crossed when it escalated the conflict (that the president had promised to pacify before his election with no negotiational success) into full-fledged war.

sadly he just doesn’t get it.

(now have fun w/ an LLM’s attempt of “advancement”!)
