:-) Well she is having fun now, but soon it’ll be my turn enjoying the life, tinkering the Steam Deck to configure the emulators. Bliss! Thanks for the Cassette Beasts recommendation. It was already on my wishlist but I’ll bump it up.

Thanks for the news!
Since I am in holidays, away from my gaming computer, I’ve only played Bloons TD6 and a bit of Vampire Survivors…
On the other hand, my daughter took my new Steam Deck and played:
- Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara. A nice platforming game, a bit small on the screen of the Deck.
- Monster Sanctuary. A Pokémon-like Metroidvania, with turn-based battles alla old Final Fantasy games. This one is perfect for the Deck.

Good, now make the engine open source Ike Carmack did for Doom 3 🤪
/s it will never happen as this game, although being great, is full of proprietary frameworks/3rd party libs.

Yes the first dives in Dave the Diver are wonderful with the beautiful pixel art.
But I found this game deeply disturbing: you kill the most fish possible to make the most money possible, but not the dolphins because they are cute. I found this game is a perfect symbol of the overproductivism of our era, while the earth is dying. I know it’s just a game, but the fact the game creator are not even aware of the philosophy their game is carrying, left a bitter taste in my mouth.
And yeah, the game is full of FOMO even in their dlcs, and the huge amount of collabs with other overly popular game make me think, in the end, it’s a pure marketing vessel. An it’s fake indie !

Dave the diver DLC is limited in time AND not free…Ouch ! I am glad I have lost interest in the game :)
I am playing 3 games in parallel:
- Battlefield 4. Discovered only 2 months ago. The game is 10 years old and the server have, at best, only 2000 people in it😂. But the game is great and achievements hunting is fun, fast fast before the servers close !
- Control. It feels like “x-files, the game”. It’s mysterious, confusing and after all enjoyable. The art direction and the fights are great.
- Gris, my small game for the evening. Not really started but it’s the replacement for my previous small game The Gardens Between which was …ok. Enjoyable and short.

At first I found achievements a bit ridiculous, like in the old days at school where you received an image if you did good.
In the meantime, some smart achievements forced me out of my play style and made me try things I would never had the idea of trying. Those are the best achievements for me. The game with such achievements that triggered the achievement crazyneness of mine was Trine 2 😁

Thanks I’ll have a look.
Unfortunately, my personal curse is the love of achievements 😅, and heroic support of them with GOG is still a little bit lacking. But with the new comet support with overlay in heroic, hopefully it will change soon.

Thanks for the really interesting mish mash of information 😁
You are a Linux gamer with a love for GOG. May I ask how are you accessing GOG games on Linux/Steam Deck: Lutris? Heroic?
- Comment on Firefox deletes promise to never sell personal data, asks users not to panic 1 month ago:
I read somewhere that Librewolf is not recommended because they are a small team and slow to patch vulnerabilities / integrate security fixes from Firefox.
Is it true? (Sincere question)

Understood. But it’s a cool idea, I’ve always preferred building the model than play with it 🙂

When you resell, do you generally do a profit on it ?
