Oh damn, I’m adapting that to Switzerland and French then put it on a wall at my job!
Thanks for the inspiration OP.
- Comment on YSK: there's a petition in europe to ban conversion therapy with a deadline in a few days. 4 days ago:
PSA: You can still sign EU petitions even if you don’t live in the EU anymore.
There are two layers in the form. The first and the one that counts is your nationality, your passport. This one needs to be EU.
Then later your residency address can be outside of EU and you can select “other country” if you moved to UK, Switzerland, Thailand or whatever.

- Comment on I want to build a Mini ITX PC for my home server, where do I start? 2 weeks ago:
I generally get my inspiration from forums.serverbuilds.net mainly the NAS killer posts (the website seems to be down at the moment of posting).
Then I adapt according to my local second hand market. Everything is bought from auction sites like eBay and some parts need patience to find a good price.

Now let’s be the geek squad we are and find a good tech solution for OP.
Sadly I can’t help as I don’t know shit about the iPhone.
- Comment on Who can I ask or where can I find help in moving to a new country? 4 weeks ago:
I’ve helped plenty of people move to my country, always on subreddits and now on lemmy communities, I sometimes receive DMs asking for information.
So I’d say, find a community for that country and ask questions. If they are none on lemmy then you might get a provisional authorization to ask on reddit.
- Comment on What is the best Sea based game out there in your opinion? 4 weeks ago:
Really? Ah shit, I have it legit on steam so it should use ubi launcher but I haven’t started it in a while.
- Comment on What is the best Sea based game out there in your opinion? 4 weeks ago:
Yep, I don’t know what happened with the reviews lately. I know they did something with the servers, maybe with the PVP server so that might have made all those players angry.
I don’t have any DLC ships, except maybe for some gifted ones and I only play solo pirate/merchant on the PVE server and don’t engage too much with the community.
It is a very slow game, combats takes ages as well as trade runs. But that is what I like in those games, I just relax sailing and trying to demast some merchants. Maybe if I was participating with the community (port raiding for your nation etc) I would be angry too.
- Comment on What is the best Sea based game out there in your opinion? 4 weeks ago:
From the creators of Cold Waters you have Sea Power, I like it a lot but it is more about strategy fighting with missiles and stuff from the Cold War then really enjoying sea.
Ultimate admiral dreadnoughts and War on the sea are also cool options for naval warfare.
Ships at Sea for normal modern sea stuff (fishing, cargo etc).
Naval action for slow wooden ships in the Bahamas.
But the best pirate game still is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. You can mod it a little and find good shaders to have it look a bit better on today’s hardware.

- Comment on Nintendo delays Switch 2 preorders over tariff concerns 1 month ago:
a lot of savings
Savings for who? If nothing is changed and manufacturers (and retailers) doesn’t make any kind of commercial gesture, the only ones paying more are the American consumers.
So moving the manufacture would be a saving for every Joe and Jane in the US, not Nintendo nor the ROTW.
Not moving the manufacture might be a loss of % in their US consumer base as prices will be too high there, but is it big enough to justify the enormous costs needed to move an entire industry workflow?
I don’t think so, specially when there is so many instability in the US politic, if you move to an other country at great cost and 2 weeks later a new tariff is declared (because why not), you moved everything for no reason but still lost your investment.
My belief is that no industry nor country will adapt, they will just increase the US market prices and keep on living like before with the ROTW. The only ones to suffer will be the American citizens and I’m sorry for them, but there is an all planet to trade with.
- Comment on Nintendo delays Switch 2 preorders over tariff concerns 1 month ago:
That would cost them enormous amounts of cash and hours of work just for one market.
There’s no point, the best option is just to ignore the US and let them pay more than the rest of the world, even if that means fewer sales.
- Comment on Day 259 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games l've been playing 1 month ago:
Non-spoilery review: It’s cool.
I kinda like all AC games but I also really enjoy this one. I love playing a stealth assassin and Naoe (the Japanese girl) perfectly fit that gameplay as she is not made for frontal assault.
The other character is also nice to sometimes have a one man army, if you want to disconnect your brain and just go head on an enemy group, it is a welcome change of pace when you want that.
Ubi’s Open World are graphic wonders as always but this one is a step above. I am really used toto 4K HDR gaming and this game is probably the best looking one I have on my PC.
As a side note, I took a Ubi+ for one month to play it and will buy the game when there is a discount.

I’ve seen two times in my life couples walking on the street with the husband holding is hand around the woman neck like that.
I told friends and they didn’t believe some people could do that. Later during the year we saw another couple walking the same way.
I really don’t understand, like you said, it gives me the creeps.

- Comment on When fighter jets are scrambled to intercept a plane for security reasons, what can they actually do? 2 months ago:
They do, full flaps and uncomfortable high pitch (well, no flaps in that picture as it is a Mirage) but they definitely do.
Of course there are probably certain types of jets that cannot fly below 150kt and it’s not like actual fighters capabilities are advertised on internet. I only know that Rafale is said to go “below 120kt” with 16 degrees pitch up in 15 tons configuration, FA-18 is something like 135kt at pitch 30 !

I really like the “thermal runaway thing” expression, and yeah it is a false equivalency but it’s a funny one.
EV charging and the tech around it can be slow today, but it doesn’t mean we should abandon and go back to what we know is working (as some people want to). This is a recipe for zero innovation and not the way to become a Star Trek like civilization.
In my city there are electric buses that charge in a few seconds at some stops along the route. No overhead wires, no big diesel engines and no noise.
We just need to work and improve those new vehicles, find better than the actual EV and combustion engines as well.

Just get rid of the fuel stations. It’s ridiculous that vehicles owners should expect to refuel their cars anywhere but at home or at work
