Yeah, there’s been an article shared on lemmy a few months ago about couples or families destroyed by AI.
Like the husband thinks he discovered some new truth, kinda religious level about how the world is working and stuff. The he becomes an annoying guru and ruins his social life.
Kind of Qanon people but with chatGPT…

I did a few exploration and chromatic bosses during the story but not much.
I didn’t want to be overpowered for the story boss as you can’t enjoy the battle and music when you almost ont shot things. You can even miss lore with some bosses.
So exploring is done now, with Esquie flying and the story done. I can build the cheesiest team I want now without having regrets.

- Comment on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. First time pay attention to the songs and I cried. This is the game that I cry over so many times. This is what I think about the game. Spoiler alert 3 days ago:
The game systems, graphics, feel, etc are a bit dated. It feels like something from 10-15 years ago.
Graphics??
You can not like the gameplay and stuff, but the graphics? It’s peak UE5 and well optimized, 99% of the players I’ve seen where making “wow” sounds at the prologue visuals and details, the underwater level and many more.
I haven’t tried low settings tho, I’m playing 4K epic, but graphics are definitely 2025.

Kudos to the players using the swimsuit skin during the Dualiste fight.

It’s a hard one, both are very good and I will do both (first playthrough in French, new game+ in English).
We don’t really know which language is the original one. Plenty would think it is French but the main writer doesn’t speak French and the motion capture for the lip sync was apparently made for English.
But the creator won’t answer on that question, when asked on a French livestream he said “I’ll let you decide which language is the OG one 🤷🏻♂️”
So, 🤷🏻♂️
Insert why not both meme here

Lumière, Alicia, déchirer la toile, une vie à s’aimer… I have so much little green hearts 💚 next to Clair Obcur titles on my Spotify.
I agree that it is very refreshing to see French inspiration, we are not very used to that in video games and they embraced it to the joke level. The baguette outfit were, quote from Guillaume Broche (CEO & Art director, creator of the project): “A joke we had on our internal discord and it went too far”.
Clair Obscur is an art style, the game takes place in the Belle époque (late 1800s early 1900s) and you can see plenty of references to that time, for example the pattern on the robe of the first flower seller in Lumière, just after the red and white tree.
This time period is never explored in games so that is also very cool to see.
Esquie is the best friend indeed, and he has a perfect French as the voice actor for English and French is the same. But all voice actors are amazing, English and French, it’s funny that you can hear the English ones struggling a bit with the French swearing (they tend to say “poutain” instead of “putain”).
And no, no Tabarnak, this is exclusive from Quebec and very much not a thing in France (or any European French speaking country).
This was made by French from France, so no Belgian or Swiss specific French language, only the one from continental France.
It shows after you meet François, in English Esquie says:
- Ahahah François you got smashed versus
- Ahahah François qu’est-ce que tu as pris cher.
“Prendre cher” is very very French street language and means something like “pay dearly” but always in a bad way. You got hurt doing something stupid? Tu as pris cher.
It started from the city of Lyon I think and like plenty of French slang has Arabic influence, this one being the word “Cheh”.
Cheh is a Moroccan (and probably Algerian) onomatopoeia for “serves you right”, so if I hurt myself being silly, I will hear a little and discreet “cheh” from my Moroccan wife in the other room. One magical onomatopoeia to say “I told you so, that serves you well”.
For French language differences, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Monaco and Switzerland are very close and we can understand each other without strong complications. Same goes with Northern Africa and most of Africa. It’s mostly an accent change and most vocabulary stays the same.
It gets a little bit difficult with the Caribbean French as they often use their own local language mixed with French.
Then you have the final boss, the endgame, Québécois. You have accent + different vocabulary and slang. A dude from Quebec HAS to make efforts to be understood in France (or Switzerland or whatever) cause we don’t understand them if they don’t 😁
Maybe we could with a little training, but as a famous languages school said in an add: " Time to learn French, because they won’t learn English"

What about it ?
The writing, the characters, the story, everything is new and perfectly done. It is pure art and something like 98% of the 3+ millions players would disagree with you.
But you must be part of that 2%, meh to each their own 🤷🏻♂️

Same here, I am in love with that game and I can’t stop listening to the 8h soundtrack or watch YouTube reactions videos of streamers crying in front of it.
Being French probably doesn’t help me from loving it… I finished the story 4 days ago and instantly reloaded my save to explore everything in the end game, unlocking every picto, every skills and Steam achievements.
Those Gestral beach mini games are annoying on purpose as they are a reference to final fantasy mini games. The platform parts are hopefully not very present, and I feel lucky to have killed that chromatic boss you’re talking about on the third try with full parry/counter.
Some few/nice advices, spoiler free but I’ll tag them anyway:
Tap for spoiler
Grosse tête (Big head) is another boss with tons of attacks, but easier (psa: kill it with Monoco in your team). Once you can, go see the dragon flying in the sky (the serpenphare, snake + light house) and try to do a “Zelda TOTK” by riding it. Do not go to the final part of the story with a too strong party, around level 60 would be my maximum. And do not equip the picto you get for finishing act 2. Otherwise you’ll be too strong and miss very cool content on some story boss fights. After the story is done you can load the auto save and build a totally broken team to destroy everything. This is also how you can access the NG+ option.

Even if the year is not finished, this game is such a perfect work of art on so many levels that it became the new favorite to me, and to plenty other players.

PSA: You can still sign EU petitions even if you don’t live in the EU anymore.
There are two layers in the form. The first and the one that counts is your nationality, your passport. This one needs to be EU.
Then later your residency address can be outside of EU and you can select “other country” if you moved to UK, Switzerland, Thailand or whatever.

I generally get my inspiration from forums.serverbuilds.net mainly the NAS killer posts (the website seems to be down at the moment of posting).
Then I adapt according to my local second hand market. Everything is bought from auction sites like eBay and some parts need patience to find a good price.

I’ve helped plenty of people move to my country, always on subreddits and now on lemmy communities, I sometimes receive DMs asking for information.
So I’d say, find a community for that country and ask questions. If they are none on lemmy then you might get a provisional authorization to ask on reddit.

Really? Ah shit, I have it legit on steam so it should use ubi launcher but I haven’t started it in a while.
- Comment on What is the best Sea based game out there in your opinion? 1 month ago:
Yep, I don’t know what happened with the reviews lately. I know they did something with the servers, maybe with the PVP server so that might have made all those players angry.
I don’t have any DLC ships, except maybe for some gifted ones and I only play solo pirate/merchant on the PVE server and don’t engage too much with the community.
It is a very slow game, combats takes ages as well as trade runs. But that is what I like in those games, I just relax sailing and trying to demast some merchants. Maybe if I was participating with the community (port raiding for your nation etc) I would be angry too.
- Comment on What is the best Sea based game out there in your opinion? 1 month ago:
From the creators of Cold Waters you have Sea Power, I like it a lot but it is more about strategy fighting with missiles and stuff from the Cold War then really enjoying sea.
Ultimate admiral dreadnoughts and War on the sea are also cool options for naval warfare.
Ships at Sea for normal modern sea stuff (fishing, cargo etc).
Naval action for slow wooden ships in the Bahamas.
But the best pirate game still is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. You can mod it a little and find good shaders to have it look a bit better on today’s hardware.

a lot of savings
Savings for who? If nothing is changed and manufacturers (and retailers) doesn’t make any kind of commercial gesture, the only ones paying more are the American consumers.
So moving the manufacture would be a saving for every Joe and Jane in the US, not Nintendo nor the ROTW.
Not moving the manufacture might be a loss of % in their US consumer base as prices will be too high there, but is it big enough to justify the enormous costs needed to move an entire industry workflow?
I don’t think so, specially when there is so many instability in the US politic, if you move to an other country at great cost and 2 weeks later a new tariff is declared (because why not), you moved everything for no reason but still lost your investment.
My belief is that no industry nor country will adapt, they will just increase the US market prices and keep on living like before with the ROTW. The only ones to suffer will be the American citizens and I’m sorry for them, but there is an all planet to trade with.
- Comment on Nintendo delays Switch 2 preorders over tariff concerns 1 month ago:
That would cost them enormous amounts of cash and hours of work just for one market.
There’s no point, the best option is just to ignore the US and let them pay more than the rest of the world, even if that means fewer sales.
- Comment on Day 259 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games l've been playing 2 months ago:
Non-spoilery review: It’s cool.
I kinda like all AC games but I also really enjoy this one. I love playing a stealth assassin and Naoe (the Japanese girl) perfectly fit that gameplay as she is not made for frontal assault.
The other character is also nice to sometimes have a one man army, if you want to disconnect your brain and just go head on an enemy group, it is a welcome change of pace when you want that.
Ubi’s Open World are graphic wonders as always but this one is a step above. I am really used toto 4K HDR gaming and this game is probably the best looking one I have on my PC.
As a side note, I took a Ubi+ for one month to play it and will buy the game when there is a discount.

I’ve seen two times in my life couples walking on the street with the husband holding is hand around the woman neck like that.
I told friends and they didn’t believe some people could do that. Later during the year we saw another couple walking the same way.
I really don’t understand, like you said, it gives me the creeps.
