Haha, that also came to mind, it’s pretty poor. Paraphrassing: "Users on Metacritic saying it “ruined” the online mode - an indicator that they are very displeased. "
You don’t say? 😄
- Comment on Why does good faith matter ? 1 week ago:
Greetings 👋 I really do care! Expressing myself genuinely aswell as putting in the effort to understand where the other person is coming from: that builds bridges, connects and leads to worthwhile discussions. Bad faith discussions do not, I think.
I heard a quote once, paraphrasing, that tries to convey:
Good etiquette means is trying to understand the other as well as one can. That stuck with me eversince. I try to understand where the other party is coming from as well as I can. Genuinely.
My experience with that is that you build bridges. My experience without that is each side is expressing opinions, that fall flat on each other’s ears more often.
Don’t be mistaken though! It does not mean to be a pushover, nor people pleaser. It means to gracefully, exercise a conscious effort, to understand - and I noticed my arguments could be way stronger even, as they are more precise. And more accepted by others.
Now you are talking about a specific point, dismissing a debate. Because someone else argues in bad faith. Am I correct in the assumption that people told you they don’t want to discuss any further as they feel you’re coming out of a position of bad faith?
If I suspect or feel the other person is arguing in bad faith, so not being interested in finding a genuine communication channel, then it’s just that: voicing an opinion, discussing only to be able to repeat that opinion. monologue disguised as dialog. Not much value.
And it’s okay to express an opinion, it’s even sometimes okay to not wanting to discuss it - but others can sense that too and don’t want their time wasted.
So let’s discuss genuinely ☀️

This was such a nice read! I can totally feel that you are inspired by old video game magazines. Feels so fresh and your personality really does shines through 😊
Also gifs convey so much at a glimpse, no gaming site should use just Screenshots I’m convinced now 😅. No really, I got interested in a few games on the list just because I “felt” them way more than seeing Screenshots on some news site.
I love those posts, thank you so much.
With Captain blood and tridents tale we even have 2 pirate themed games today. I am surprised by Captain blood, I know quite some niche stuff in video games, but never heard of it.
The one click mods coming to gog are really cool, allows you to step in a curated alternative form of a beloved game without the hassle. I’m curious what we will get there. I could imagine a version for gothic 1, which is such an interesting game, but very clunky - but there are fan patches to address that.
Btw. I see an “Arari” where it should probably be “Atari”. Not to nitpick, but rather to express my appreciation for the post.
I’m also looking forward to the next remedy release, those guys are very special to me.
Again, thanks for the writeup, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also the wider look including the PS2 and gog office rooms. ☀️
Get well PerfectDark ❤️

Yeah it’s really no replacement but it feels special to some extend. ☀️

I would mostly agree. The magic of video games and the virtual worlds was bridged to the real world by sharing them with friends. I can totally see that!
I guess “modern” gaming works best when playing online with friends (not every game allows that of course), and wind down type of games. Self care gaming 😄.
I had some great moments though screensharing my game on discord while being able to watch what my friend was playing on their screenshare. There is something - even though that it is not exactly what you were hinting at, as obviously you can’t directly influence the game that the other is playing - but it is a shared experience in some way that makes it feel connected and special.
That post gave me food for thought.

Nah, sounds like the rendering is simply broken at the time. When you turn off fsr it still seems to render lower than native.

Hey just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate your perspective. I know that unions result, in general, in better working conditions. However me as a customer not only supporting such companies, if I choose so, but also benefitting from better products in general is a nice perspective. food for thought!

- Comment on Trine Was a Masterpiece. Why Doesn’t Anyone Remember? 2 months ago:
Oh I also really like trine. I think it was a bit hard to run at the time requirement wise. Had a great time cooping with good friends. there was this hectic moment where I was almost dead as the thief, enemy in front of me, steep cliff behind - me screaming to my buddy “do something”, as he was the wizard. I panicked, he panicked, I was preparing my jump, he tried to anticipate and build me a platform mid air. So I jump, just for a plank he mistakenly summoned above me to bonk on my head and falling to death. We were in tears from laughing that hard. Great times, thanks for the memory 😄
