- Comment on YSK that United has significantly escalated their war against basic economy passengers 4 weeks ago:
Same for me, and as shitty as Comcast has been in other places, I’ve had only two non-power related outages with them in almost 7 years here. I think their service quality varies not only state by state, but even county to county in some places.

- Comment on Student dorm does not allow wifi routers 2 months ago:
It’s a security\legal risk to allow adhoc wireless networks within your environment, pretty much any organization above a certain size has the same restrictions.
You could theoretically allow anyone to access your router directly, which would let them bypass agreeing to the Acceptable Use Policy, for example, shifting liability back to the organization for that users behavior.

Are you really implying clandestine abduction is an acceptable method to deal with an overstayed visa?

- Comment on VPN on TMobile home 5G internet calyx 10 months ago:
It probably has to do with being native ipv6 and needing to ride a 6to4 nat to reach the broader internet.
Start at 1400 and walk the MTU down by ~50 until you find stability, then id creep it back up by 10 to find the ‘perfect’ size, but that part isn’t really needed if you’re impatient. :)
- Comment on Tesla Whistleblower Says 'Autopilot' System Is Not Safe Enough To Be Used On Public Roads 11 months ago:
The comparison is a little flat when you consider autopilot has minimum viable weather and road condition requirements to activate, no snow or hail, etc, while human drivers must endure and perform optimally in all road and weather conditions.

Don’t worry, the house of cards will finally crumble when they are caught using customer deposits to pay this $4.3BB fine.

In all weather conditions. Autonomous vehicles only drive in optimal conditions, humans have to suffer whatever nature throws at us.
- Comment on How would you seal this gap under central boiler hydronic baseboard heaters that only get warm, not hot. 1 year ago:
You’re absolutely begging for moisture problems if you put spray foam in there. It should be open exactly like it is, albeit cut closer to the way. That really won’t stop bugs anyway, you’re much better off treating the perimeter and plugging exterior access holes.

DO NOT PUT SPRAY FOAM ON YOUR BASEBOARD RADIATORS MAN!!! They need service occasionally and you are setting yourself up for an absolute nightmare if you get a leak!!!
- Comment on How would you seal this gap under central boiler hydronic baseboard heaters that only get warm, not hot. 1 year ago:
Put down diatomaceous earth or a light dusting of boric acid powder into the crack. Problem solved forever.

That’s a “floating floor”, looks like vinyl plank, it shouldn’t be anchored to the walls. I have the exact same setup with my baseboard radiators.

What if we got rid of all the silly text, too, and maybe pictures, while we’re at it? A nice blank while page would look very clean.

Separate double bay doors. They have a pair of each floor that opens to an outside wall. You use a forklift to get the pallets up. That or there is a big ass freight elevator, depending on the data center.

- Comment on [TECHCRUNCH] YouTube is testing longer but fewer ads on TV 1 year ago:
I recently bought a new Chromecast with Google TV and I was surprised to learn they inject ads when you cast YouTube from your phone! I had absolutely no idea! If I cast the same stream to my old gen1, it’s completely ad free no matter how long I watch.
That made it a very easy decision to return the new pile of crap.
